Laurel and Kevin were married in the bride’s parent’s backyard in Edmonton, Okla. on June 29. “Kevin has been studying movement theater and clowning for some time, and I have always loved old film clowns like Charlie Chaplin, so the vintage circus idea seemed perfect,” Laurel said. The bride wore Claire Pettibone’s “Midnight” antique embroidered sheath dress with amethyst jewels on the straps, while the groom wore a white button-up, kahki pants, suspenders, cap, and purple tie. Notice the clown? “The morning of the wedding, it rained (which I hear is good luck!),” she said. “It made the rest of the day cooler, and by the afternoon, the sky was perfectly clear.” Amidst the trees were hanging umbrellas and twinkling cafe lights, showcased on the fence were posters of Ringling Bros. and Barnun & Bailey, and lining the gazebo were paper flowers.”We had a short and simple ceremony, and the guests were not seated according to the bride or groom’s side but wherever they wanted,” Laurel said. The reception followed with foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, and peanuts, and a photo booth with red foam nose props. There even was a performer, who did stunts on a unicycle and juggled pins! See the full board here.
