* Cami + Erik: A Festive Cranberry Palette

Posted on December 5th, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.

Cami and Erik’s love story is one for the books.   Erik asked Cami to winter formal during their senior year in high school, and they’ve been together ever since! Josh Elliott captured their emotional, heartfelt day in photos.  The palette was a festive, cranberry red, complemented by grey, white, and earthy greens.  While planning the wedding, both Cami and Erik agreed that as long as the other person showed up, it would be the perfect day.  They wanted to have fun with the details, without letting it get the best of them.  Cami and Erik did place special attention on one part of the day: the ceremony.   It was the most important, and the photos show just how beautiful and meaningful it was.  Kathe Hayden did an extraordinary job on the florals, while Sugar Branch Events made the day seamless and lovely.

From the Bride, Cami: Our wedding was, honestly, the PERFECT day! The weather was gorgeous, in the high 70s. We had the love and support of 180 family members and friends.  Because Erik and I have been dating for so long, this is something we wanted to incorporate throughout the day. I made sure to bring his letterman’s jacket, which I used to proudly wear back in the day!  My mom made a memory table with photos of us throughout the years. We both saved our corsages and boutonnieres from high school dances, which were displayed on the table.

Erik’s mom made his boutonniere and included a piece of lace from her wedding dress. My mom made my bouquet and included photos of our three grandmothers that have passed away.  Also, the bridal purse I used was the very same one my mom used at her wedding! There were a lot of personal details.

There are two things that happened on my wedding day that I will NEVER forget. First, Erik and I chose to not have a first look. However, we wanted to pray together beforehand without seeing each other. We did this by holding hands around the corner of a large pillar.  Second, I’ll always remember when we saw each other for the first time during our ceremony. It was such a sweet, emotional moment for the two of us. I will never forget Erik’s reaction and the photos of him seeing me are the most precious, priceless thing!
