Trendy Desert Wedding by Gideon Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Lacey and Easton are a hip and stylin’ pair and their spring wedding in St. George, Utah, was a total reflection of them.  The day was filled to the brim with vibrant color and modern details like succulents, custom typography, a personalized monogram, and more.  We couldn’t be more happy to share their fabulous, trendy album by Gideon Photography! We really can’t get over the brilliant florals by Bloomers.  They set the tone for a truly vibrant day in the desert.  The wedding party was dressed in soft neutrals, which complemented the wow floral palette, red earthen desert, and incredible blue sky. The amazing design work of Kortney Eggertz could be found throughout the day… in the signage, wedding programs, menus, place settings and favors!  All of the paper goods showcased the custom typography and monogram that she created especially for Lacey and Easton.   Meanwhile, Forevermore Events ensured that everything was in its perfect place and the day went off without a hitch.

Perhaps one of our favorite parts of this modern wedding?  The cake- an amazing creation by Blanca’s Designer Cakes!  We’re in love with the gorgeous ripples on each tier and the ruffly sugar flower accent.

Don’t miss the rest of Lacey and Easton’s color-filled day in our real wedding gallery!

Vintage Travel Wedding in Sedona
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Not only is this couple totally charming, but the photographs against the red earth of the Sedona landscape have me falling fast!  Julie is from Arizona, while Patrick is from Germany.  They both attended graduate school in Arizona, where they met and fell in love. With family and and friends coming from all over the world, a travel-themed wedding at their favorite getaway spot was just the ticket.

Margaret VanDamme with VanDamme Weddings designed a very appropriate vintage travel themed wedding at L’Auberge de Sedona. In true destination wedding style, the couple planned a weekend of events for their guests which, in the words of the bride, was ‘unique, comfortable and fabulously fun… with great food and wine being a must.’  Katrina Wallace and Andrew Mejia of Sedona Bride captured this radiant destination wedding in the desert.

Best wishes to the beaming couple!

Rustic & Romantic Wedding on a Ranch by Galaxie Andrews
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

This week’s Real Wedding takes us to Phoenix, Arizona, where Taylor and Brandon wed at the The Farm at South Mountain.  The desert really is so beautiful….. Add a rustic setting, twinkling lights, and incredible flowers… and you’ve got an evening of sheer romance!  Here’s a quick peek at their album, photographed by Galaxie Andrews, but you can catch the full feature {here}!

We just love the look of the rich red and sweet peach palette against the desert backdrop!  Camelback Flower Shop worked their magic to design breathtaking florals for the event. It was a gorgeous November day in Arizona, a moderate eighty-five degrees.  These two lovebirds are laid-back types… they wanted a wedding that was easy-going and spacious, with lots of outdoor room.  Taylor wore a simple chic gown by Wtoo; Brandon took a casual route, wearing dress pants and a vest. The tabletops featured blooming kale, roses, peach tones, and candlelight.  String lights lit up the night and created quite the ambiance on the farm.

For favors, Taylor and Brandon gifted jars of fresh salsa (so creative and perfectly Southwest)!

See more of their day in the Real Wedding Gallery….

Sweet wishes to the happy couple!

Bright & Organic: A Fresh Southwest-Inspired Photoshoot
Posted by Kate. Filed under Photography, Wedding Inspiration

When I heard that Paper Antler was coming thru my hometown of Tucson, Arizona this winter (on tour for the Fifty Nifty) I snagged ’em up for a photoshoot!  Since they’re from the midwest, they really wanted to capture the essence of the desert…. they said… how about some cool fort?   I was immediately inspired to make use of the amazing yurt in my backyard (of which- I always joke- I’m going to turn into a glamper).  We teamed up with the hip and fabulous Misha West to bring the vision to life.  During our creative process, our priorities were to design an organic tabletop with lots of gorgeous desert colors…. we also wanted to use the yurt for a ceremony location and reception lounge space. We rounded up the best florist in the state, Camelback Flowershop, to create fresh and modern florals.  Our models, Brigette and Alexis, who we featured here, were a dream to work with.  They’re newly engaged, totally in love, and currently planning their own wedding!  (They enjoyed the practice run).
We put Brigette in a light and flowing gown by Katie Jean and earrings by Ayofemi.  Phoenix-based beauty pros, Mariana Marie and Paige Ashcroft finished off her natural, tousled look flawlessly.  Meanwhile, we brought on the extremely talented Kristy Rice from Momental Designs to design a paper suite to fit our mod-Southwest vision.  Needless to say, when I got these in the mail, I was over the moon!

For the yurt setting, we kept the attire cool and casual.  Our handsome groom, Alexis, was dressed by Tres Boutique.  We moved inside to bring to life our quaint reception concept, really pulling thru the warm tones of the desert and featuring seasonal fruits.  Of course, one of the highlights was the kumquat-embellished mini cakes by Sweet Creations!
As the evening winded down, we thought some cozy time in the glamper… (ahem, yurt) was due.  We transformed the ceremony setting into a romantic lounge, complete with woven and vintage blankets, an antique trunk, pillows, cushions, florals and candlelight!

Whew!  It was a full day of designing and shooting… As the sun sunk into the horizon, it was a wrap!

You can see more from the photoshoot here.

Thanks soooo much to all of the extraordinary wedding pros who helped to pull this off:
