Anna and Pat became wife and husband on Thompson Island along the Boston Harbor in Massachusetts this fall. However, everyone thought they were attending a family reunion. Little did they know it was a surprise! Some members of the wedding party knew about the wedding a couple weeks before, some (like the best man) found out the day before,” Anna said. “We planned it for about two years and really wanted to make it as stress-free for everyone as possible. We just wanted everyone to have fun.” Guests didn’t find out until the boat docked. and Pat’s seven-year-old nephew announced that they were indeed getting married that day. “When he did, everyone started cheering,” she said. “The pictures from that moment are some of our favorites.” She walked down the aisle wearing a layered ruffle wedding gown, accessorized with a wildflower bouquet, towards her groom wearing a tan suit, accessorized with a purple checkered button-up and yellow tie. The ceremony included readings from The Little Prince, A Farewell to Arms, and others, and lots of whimsical, personal touches like high fives. The reception followed underneath the pavilion where classic New England fare was served — lobster, corn on the cob, etc. They even brewed their own cider, which doubled as favors! See the full board here.
