Maria and Darren were married at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel in Riverside, Calif. on June 14. “We met nineteen years ago when we were 12 years old,” Maria said. “I was the one who chased him! I remember telling my older brother’s best friend that I loved Darren and was going to marry him.” The bride flattered in a fitted strapless lace gown and cathedral-length veil. Her wavy locks were clipped back with a sparkly hair pin and she opted for a simple necklace and earrings. She carried a classic bouquet of white peonies. The groom wore a black suit with a patterned neck tie and a white peony boutonniere. Her ‘maids wore bright red chiffon floor-length strapless dresses and carried bouquets of white peonies and roses. “Since my bridesmaids dresses were so bright and fun, I didn’t want to over do it with accent colors,” Maria said. The groomsmen were outfitted in gray three-piece suits, patterned ties, and calla lily boutonnieres. A reception followed the traditional church ceremony in the music room at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa. Guests sat in chiavari chairs at round tables with tall floral centerpieces. “I kept the linens and flowers very simple; all ivory,” Maria said. ” I tied in the theme of my lace wedding dress to the cake, votive candles and all the bouquets were wrapped in lace.” After dinner, guests indulged in an all-white tiered cake topped with white peonies, of course! “I really wanted to keep it traditional yet contemporary at the same time,” Maria said. She definitely succeeded, and even managed to gather her all of her guests together to take a group photo! See the full board here.

Vy and David were married at Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, Calif. on November 2. ”We became friends over a mutual love of coffee, movies, music, and Disney, and realized that we also made great traveling companions,” Vy said. “After several trips throughout Asia, we became inseparable.” The bride wore a strapless lace a-line wedding gown, accessorized with her hair sideswept in loose curls, while the groom wore a light gray three-piece suit, accessorized with a solid tie. Bridesmaids wore chiffon navy blue dresses with hi-lo hemlines and carried bouquets of roses, freesiaas, and seeded eucalyptus wrapped in satin. ”Our wedding inspiration was our theme of ‘favorite things,’” she said. “We wanted to incorporate the different aspects of our relationship that we enjoyed and wanted to share and highlight them with our family and friends.” Notice the Lego 3-D superhero figurine on this groomsmen’s lapel? Each one also wore revovler and holster socks. ”We got married on a warm November day,” Vy said. “Much warmer for a fall day than we had anticipated! Some even traveled as far as Vietnam and the Philippines to be a part of our special day.” The ceremony arch was drapped with fabric and pinned with pom poms, aisles were lined with craft beer bottles, and folding chairs included a crossword puzzle. ”Our fan programs featured a ‘Do you know the couple?’ crossword puzzle for guests to spend time playing before the ceremony started,” she said. After the outdoor nuptials, cocktail hour began with signature mojito drinks. Guests found their seats at the reception via “Admit One” tickets. ”I wanted to keep things simple,” Vy said. Table names were movie posters, and at each place setting, there was coffee favor bags. ”Neither of us are fans of cake, so we opted for a desser bar featuring our favorite sweets,” she said. Desserts included cheesecake, cupcakes, lemon tartlets, and macarons. See the full board here.

Ashlee and Michael were married at Green Gables Estate in San Marcos, Calif. on April 13. ”I knew from the very beginning that I did not want our wedding to be in a hotel, so I began to look at various outdoor venues,” Ashlee said. “When we came across Green Gables Estate, we knew we did not have to look any further as it had all of the character we were looking for.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace a-line wedding gown, accessorized with drop dangling earrings, initialed necklace, and jeweled sash, while the groom wore a light gray suit, accessorized with a patterned tie. Bridesmaids wore short gray dresses with keyhole backs and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, football mums, and lamb’s ears. Guests were greeted at the ceremony with a wooden sign that said, “Today, two families are becoming one. Please pick a seat not a side.” “We did many things during the ceremony to make it very personal,” she said. “From having every one of our siblings participating in some manner to our 14-year-old dog Gibson being our ring bearer to our niece singing, and to all of our guests participating in the vows.” The reception followed cocktail hour in a tent draped with fabric on the ceiling. “We wanted all of our guests to feel at home so for the place cards we wrote everyone a personal note,” Ashlee said. Tables were decorated with tall candelabra centerpieces, lavender sprig numbers, vintage china, and favor bags at each place setting. They performed their first dance to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri, then surprised the crowd by switching the song to “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. That wasn’t the only entertainment for the night though — a photo booth complete with props kept smiles wide. The newlyweds’ best advice? “On the day of take a lot of deep breaths to soak everything in,” Ashlee said. “And attempt to schedule at least 10 to 15 minutes after the ceremony where you and your new husband can be alone and take in this joyous event.” See the full board here.

Ashley + Chris: An Intimate Lace-Inspired Fall California Ranch Wedding By Brooke Beasley Photography

Ashley and Chris were married at Calistoga Ranch in Calistoga, Calif. on September 22. ”We met five years ago at work, we instantly were drawn to each other’s dry sense of humor,” Ashley said. “There has not been a day that has gone by since the day we met that we don’t make each other laugh!” The bride wore a backless lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with a ruffled skirt, accessorized with a chapel-length veil, while the groom wore black suit, accessorized with a white tie. ”My husband didn’t want groomsmen, but I wasn’t getting married without my bests by my side!” she said. “Sure, it’s not traditional, but who cares?” Bridesmaids wore long pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. ”Guests arrived by party bus and were immediately greeted with custom pre-ceremony cocktails and parasols to beat the 80-degree heat,” Ashley said. The outdoor nuptials took place underneath a rustic branch arch hung with a crystal chandelier. ”Napa is such a gorgeous place to get married, and I really wanted to enhance the natural beauty with a ton of flowers,” she said. The newlyweds best advice? “Keep the wedding about you and your future husband because at the end of the day thats all that matters,” Ashley said. She was intent on having a sheer tent for the reception. But because of the shape of the lawn, it had to be custom-made. “I really wanted a rustic romantic wedding with classic touches that would never go out of style,” she said. “I didn’t want to look back at pictures and think ‘oh that was a trend.’” Tables were decorated with mercury glass centerpieces, lace runners, and family-style meals. ”Post-dinner, we went into the Wine Cave, which was set up with lounge furniture, lighting, an open bar, and a DJ!” Ashley said.
