Personalizing wedding favors can be expensive. Save yourself some precious pennies and customize your special day by using this simple stitching technique.

Supplies: paper mache boxes • scissors • thread • needle • pencil • card stock • glue stick

Step One. Write the initials of the bride and groom on the lid of a box with a pencil.

Step Two. Using the needle, create stitching holes over your pencil lines. Make sure the holes go all the way through the lid and try to space them as evenly as possible.

Step Three. Thread your needle and tie a knot about 3 inches from the end.

Step Four. Stitching back to front, sew through the holes (over the pencil lines.)

Step Five. When your stitching is complete, tie the two ends of the thread together in a secure knot.

Step Six. Grab a piece of card stock that coordinates with your wedding colors and cut out a circle. Using a glue stick, secure this brightly colored circle to cover the backside of the lid. This will help keep your project looking as clean and professional as possible.

These darling favor boxes can be filled with just about anything to match your day.
