Architecture-Inspired in Austin by Q Weddings
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

I’ve got a massive dose of romantic candlelight and architecture-inspired décor for you today, and I just couldn’t be more happy to be sharing Amanda and John’s Austin wedding with you!  Our fabulous photographer friend Suzy, of Q Weddings, captured this stylish soirée and all the glittering, glistening, and metallic details that made the look and feel of the day truly special.  Amanda and John’s approach was to remember that the marriage was the most important part of the day.  The couple made sure to take the day at a leisurely pace; for them, it was a day of reflection.  Finding inspiration in architecture and antique shops, the couple loved the old Austin atmosphere of The Driskill Hotel.  We just love those chic chair covers used for the ceremony! After saying their vows in front of a mantle filled with dozens of candles in glass hurricane holders,  it was time for an evening celebration filled with even more amazing candlelight.  A glittering party lounge was set up with sequence pillows and metallic accents.

At the end of the evening there was a power outage due to an electrical fire in the city.  The guests thought the power loss was planned to add to the mood and it ended up being  a memorable end to the evening.

See more from Amanda and John’s gorgeous day {here}.

Inspired by the Ballet…
Posted by Kate. Filed under Wedding Inspiration

What is it about the ballet, that is just so romantic, alluring and inspiring?  A group of wedding professionals in Virginia took the concept and ran with it to produce a poetic evening photoshoot at Mount Ida Farm.  Feminity and grace were juxtaposed against the rustic-luxe venue.  Billowing florals cascaded across the tabletops, exquisite calligraphy danced across the paper goods, and the shoot even featured dancer/models from the Richmond Ballet!  Enjoy reveling in these photos by Aaron Watson Photography.
