* Trend Snippet: Bejeweled Gowns to Fall For
Posted on February 8th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Wedding Dress.
Who doesn’t love a little (or a lot) of sparkle? If you want to truly shine on your big day, a dress with a bit of glimmer is the most glam way to go. And, on this dreary Friday in D.C., bejeweled bridal gowns are the perfect pick-me-up to carry us into the weekend! Here’s a glimpse at a few we fell especially hard for:
no. 1 Jenny Packham • no. 2 Reem Acra • no. 3 Marchesa
no. 4 Ines Di Santo • no. 5 Amsale • no. 6 Mark Zunino
See even more glitzed out options in our full slideshow.
Is there anything sparkly on your wedding planning agenda for the weekend?

* Trend Snippet: The Ball Gown is Back
Posted on February 1st, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Wedding Dress, Wedding Inspiration.
Sigh. There’s something just plain magical about a full, floor-length skirt, right? When it comes to looking like a princess on your wedding day, nothing sets the tone quite like a classic ball gown. Lucky for us, designers answered our fairy tale fantasies this season, sending one dreamy dress after another down the runway.
A few of our favorites:
no. 1 Amsale • no. 2 Romona Keveza • no. 3 Kenneth Pool
no. 4 Austin Scarlett • no. 5 Mark Zunino • no. 6 Maggie Sottero
See 20 beautiful ball gowns in our full slideshow…
Does anyone have big dress shopping plans this weekend?
Happy Friday!

* Trend Snippet: Sheer Statement
Posted on November 2nd, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.
After each runway season, our Fashion Friday posts turn towards trends. This past October, there was a serious sheer statement on the New York bridal runway. Let’s be honest, this high fashion look isn’t for every bride, but it sure is stunning, sexy and utterly glamorous. The dynamic contrast of the beadwork, embroidery and crystal embellishments against translucent fabrics make these gowns altogether noteworthy…pure art in my book.
no. 1 Gown by Eve of Milady
no. 2, 3 & 4 Dresses by Reem Acra
no. 5 & 6 Dresses by Hayley Paige
no. 7 Gown by Badgley Mischka
Beauties, aren’t they?
I have something so so special for you on Monday, a creative project that I’m over the moon about. It’s a photoshoot that is romantic down to the core, a heartfelt expression of all that is sacred and beautiful about weddings and I can’t wait to share. Until then, I hope your weekend is sheer perfection..xo
* Day Four: NYC Bridal Market Top Ten {Part Two}

no. 6 Stopping by Sarah Seven
If I’ve never mentioned how much I adore Sarah Seven.. well… let it be known. She is adorable. Her new collection? Equally so. She’s a fellow PNW-er (Pacific North Westerner) so, needless to say, I have an affinity for her relaxed, cas-glam vibe. A stop by her showroom was a total treat! Here are four new looks- a delightful play of metallic laces, spun gold, and sequenced tulle.
no. 7 Australian Chic from Amanda Garret
While in NY, I had the great pleasure of being introduced to the minimalistic, yet incredibly stunning looks from Sydney-based designer Amanda Garret. The mini sequence dress below was my very favorite from the collection.. It’s take-your-breath-away beautiful…
no. 8 Sareh Nouri New York
Meeting talented new designers is one of my favorite things about market. I’m as all over the up-and-coming as I am the seasoned genius’ behind the established, tried-and-true labels. Basically, fresh fashion creativity in all its forms is fab in my book. Which brings me to introduce a snippet from the newly launched Sareh Nouri New York collection! I love the romantic styling and textured skirts on these two pretties:
no. 9 Rafael Cennamo’s Stunners
Some collections are light, airy and take your breath away. And some collections are drop. dead. gorgeous. I’d put Rafael Cennamo’s couture designs in that category. When I’m face to ‘face’ withe these beauts, I can’t help but pour over the incredible construction and immaculate embellishments. Is it possible to have an aura of couture? If so, these gowns have it! Rafael rounded this season’s collection out with both chic, slim-fit styles and beautiful ball gowns.
no. 10 Embracing Mother Nature
When this glowing mama walked the runway at Pnina Tornai, first I noticed how totally lovely she looked in the soft pink gown. Then of course, my mind ran wild with curiosity! During the post-show, I caught up briefly with Jenette Kruszka- the PR Director for Kleinfeld, where the gowns are sold, and she gave me the scoop. This gorgeous model walks for Pnina every season, and this season she happened to be pregnant. Pnina was inspired to design a gown just for her so she could walk in the show. Sooo sweet ♥
Well that’s a wrap, my fashion-frenzied friends. Our highlights/re-caps from the long weekend are complete AND I still have so. much. more to share. Stay tuned for trends and more juicy fashion from the runway in our weekly ‘Fashion Friday’ segment, and in the meantime, pour over the full collections here.
xoxo
