* Look We Love: A Vintage Bohemian Fashion Shoot by Melanie Yu

Posted on April 12th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Beauty, Bridal Fashion.

Project Wedding brides are nothing if not a creative bunch. We know y’all find inspiration in all corners of the Internet, and, as much as you may love them, don’t limit yourself to wedding blogs for big day ideas. That’s OK—we look around, too! And, every so often, we’re so inspired by something slightly off the wedding path that we can’t help but share. Case in point: today’s amazing in-the-forest fashion shoot, put on by DC fashion blogger Cheralee of Miss Lyle Style and Mid-Atlantic photographer Melanie Yu. Between the floral headband, lace dress, and vintage-inspired jewelry, this is a beautifully romantic look for a demure bohemian bride. Like what you see? Scroll through for a rundown on Cheralee’s actual outfit/makeup, as well as a similar look we whipped up ourselves!

Wow. We’ve looked at the photos a few times now, but the feeling doesn’t change. Tessa and Dan’s wedding transports us to a modern fairy tale forest each and every time, and we are absolutely in awe of all that lush greenery.  Set amid the breathtaking views of the Onteora Mountain House in Boiceville, NY, their September nuptials put a 21st century spin on classic rustic romance. We are delighted that Tin Sparrow Studio is sharing the images with us today.

* Dreamy Forest Theme Wedding by Joshua Zuckerman Photography

Posted on September 20th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.

Alyssa and Alex’s wedding embraced the romanticism of the Tarrytown, NY venue and their natural style. Think woodland whimsy meets East Coast classic.  They brought the outdoors inside with rustic décor and seasonal ivory flowers. Enjoy this spread of forest- inspired beauty, captured by Joshua Zuckerman Photography.

The couple married in front of a lush floral display, designed by Diana Gould.  Both Alyssa and Alex have musical theater backgrounds (Alex does improv on the weekends), so their wedding was doused with  theatrical flair.  The tone of the day was lighthearted and sweet, and packed with laughter.

The reception reminds me of an enchanted forest in the springtime… The escort display of polished stones sat amongst soft moss while candlelight surrounded the tall, rustic centerpieces.  The couple’s dog, Bean, was featured in spirit on top of the super fun, ‘Love’-printed cake by Sweet Lisa’s.  Which I love.

Sending crazy happy wedding wishes to Alyssa and Alex and big thanks to Joshua Zuckerman for sharing…

* Homespun Wedding

Posted on March 1st, 2011 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.

In the mood for something unique and off the beaten path?  Leave it up to a creative etsy vendor to put together the perfect rustic, DIY wedding on the edge of a pine thicket in Alabama.  Caitlin + Josh wanted their day to be a reflection of their style and they did just that using items from their home, vintage ceramics, and lots of hard work!  They pulled off quite the party.  The lovely photographs were snapped by Twin Hearts Photography.

Check out Caitlin’s vintage homegoods over at Seventh Hand…. and {click here} to see the full feature on Project Wedding.
