Neely + Karl: Romantic Springtime Southern Barn Wedding by Freshly Bold Photography

Neely and Karl were married at a private barn in Silverhill, Ala. on April 26. “I wanted the theme of my wedding to be romantic, in every sense of the word!” Neely said. “I wanted a very intimate, vintage, traditional feel to the whole night!” The bride stunned in a fitted strapless lace gown and wore her chestnut brown hair in an intricate updo. She opted for minimal jewelry and carried a bouquet of light pink and white garden roses. Her ‘maids matched the romantic vibe perfectly in flowing floor-length blush-colored gowns with various necklines. The groom and his men donned gray three-piece suits, the groom differentiated himself by opting for a light blue vest and necktie, while the groomsmen went with white. ” The whole wedding, ceremony and reception were outdoors,” Neely said. “The ceremony itself was relaxed and traditional, performed by my granddaddy.” Guests sat in folding chairs, beside a lake, and watched Neely and Karl tie the knot. Afterwards, they walked up the hill to the reception, which was in a private barn. Guests were encouraged to sign a wooden table along with a guestbook. The couple added many personal touches such as a family photo display and a cute dessert display. Rustic touches such as whimsical handwritten signs, mason jar flower holders, and bales of hay decorated the barn. They even had outdoor string lights, so guests could celebrate long after the sun set. “The whole day I would describe as relaxed, romantic, full of sentiment and love,” Neely said. “I wanted to spend the morning with my favorite people, and that’s exactly what I did.” The couple cut a three-tiered cake adorned with flowers and were sent off into married life with sparklers. Despite the gorgeous details and romantic aesthetic, it wasn’t the most important part for Neely.  “At the end of the day, if you are married to the love of your life, then it was a perfect day!” Neely said. Elizabeth and Timmy were married at Historic Malbis Plantation in Daphne, Ala. on November 30. “As a wedding photographer for the past three years, I wanted something unique and different, something I had never seen before in person,” Elizabeth said. “I had a little help from Pinterest and Etsy, and it took many hours slaving over DIY projects and many sleepless nights getting it all done, but I could have not asked for a better wedding once I saw everything together.” The bride wore a ruffled one-shoulder satin a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a sideswept braided updo and chunky, chandelier earrings, while the groom wore a dark gray vest and pants, accessorized with solid ties and Converse tennis shoes. She carried a bouquet of Before the ceremony, the couple exchanged love letters and gifts. Elizabeth wrote on a brown paper bag, “Timmy, I have loved you for 824 days but today will be the best day ever. Love, your fiance.” “The weather was perfect,” she said. “I was so nervous it would be way too cold or rainy, and it was 69-70 degrees and sunny.” Fun fact: It took place during the Iron Bowl. “We walked back up the aisle to the Alabama fight song, since Timmy and the groomsmen are huge football fans,” Elizabeth said. Guests were encouraged to update their statuses, tweets, or Instagram photos with the hashtag #goldmanwedding. The signature cocktail? Mountain dew! “I knew that a wide array of florals would make a gorgeous setup surrounded by mason jars and bottles of different sizes and candles galore,” she said. “It was truly beautiful! I incorporated a ton of cameras I found either on Ebay or local antique stores to showcase my love for photography.” The newlyweds performed their first dance to John Legend’s “All of Me,” and then sat down at a sweetheart table with a fabric streamers backdrop and crystal chandelier from above. The three-tiered buttercream frosted cake was topped with a bunting banner with hearts and in addition, there was groom’s cake featuring Big ‘Al. See the full board here.
