Taryn and Troy were married at Royal Sonesta Hotel New Orleans in New Orleans, La. on October 12. ”The inspiration for my wedding really just came from my love of shiny things!” Taryn said. ”A lot of our guests traveled from near and far for the wedding, so we wanted to make sure they got the true New Orleans experience. Seven months later, we are still hearing guests say how much they loved NOLA and how they plan to go back. I think having the wedding located in a centralized location like Bourbon Street was key.” The bride wore a sweetheart ball gown with a floral applique bodice, accessorized with a hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, while the groom wore a a two-tone dark gray and black suit, accessorized with a solid tie. Bridesmaids wore long silk purple one-shoulder dresses and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, and pincushions. The candlelit ceremony took place inside the ballroom with 175 of their closest family and friends. Fun fact: Troy’s uncle officiated! ”The best thing I did was requesting to see my reception room before the doors were opened to guests,” she said. “I had such a vision in my head of what I wanted to be that I wanted to soak it in before it was touched by anyone. Let me tell you, my breathe was literally taken away! The doors opened and as I stood there . . . I couldn’t believe it was all right in front of me.” Reception tables were decorated with sequin linens, tall centerpieces, street names, and ghost chairs. ”I thought my heart was going to be dead set on my favorite bakery in New Orleans, but to my surprise the hotel did a far better job of the presentation and flavor of the cake!” Taryn said. At the end of the night, the newlyweds enjoyed a Second Line parade complete with a brass band and parasols. See the full board here.

High school sweethearts Leigh and Kyle were married at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas last fall. The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a floral sash and chapel-length veil in her loose blonde curls, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a striped tie. Bridesmaids wore short dresses in various neutral colors and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, and dusty millers. Due to inclement rainy weather, the ceremony took place inside underneath a gazebo with aisles lined in lanterns. Fun fact: Kyle is a professional baseball player. So, of course, the newlyweds wanted to incorporate this into their reception. Guests were asked to write well wishes on bases. Tables were decorated with sequin linens, tall candelabra centerpieces, and mercury glass candles. In addition to the five-tiered cake, there were also cookies. At the end of the night, it wasn’t sparklers that sent them off to their honeymoon in Fiji it was ___ . Fill in the blank! (Hint: It’s a nod to a sport.) See the full board here.

Amanda and Tyler were married in a converted warehouse with exposed brick walls, steel trusses, wood ceilings, and concrete floors on December 31 — New Year’s Eve. The bride wore a sweetheart lace wedding gown, accessorized with her hair down in loose curls along with a a pearl statement necklace and a pair of blush Badgley Mischka strappy sandals. Bridesmaids chose their own dresses to flatter their figures. Of course, glitter was encouraged! As guests arrived, they were greeted with the words, “Come as you are, stay as long as you can, we’re all family, so no seating plan.” The ceremony was glowing with cafe lights, while the reception was lit with crystal chandeliers. Wine bottles were spray painted in different colors and filled with roses, astilbes, anemones, and peonies. Table numbers also served as candle holders. Clever, right? Decorative frames hung above the dessert display of cakes, cupcakes, and cake pops, and kazoos and party hats were ready to go for the stroke of midnight. See the full board here.

Sheila and Dave were married in a traditional church ceremony at Church of Nativity (complete with a bagpiper) followed by a tented reception at The Santaluz Club in San Diego, Calif. on August 10. ”Our wedding planner helped us plan and design every last detail.  She helped us navigate through all the vendors and contracts and explained every step with us.  It made the whole process so much fun and relaxing and we didn’t have to worry about anything,” Sheila said. The bride wore a sweetheart drop waisted wedding gown, accessorized with a white and blush garden roses bouquet, while bridesmaids wore emerald chiffon dresses. The planner came up with a Midsummer Night’s Dream theme for the reception. ”We brought the outside in by incorporating 25 live ficus trees with twinkle lights in them inside the tent for that magical look,” she said. Tall branch centerpieces filled modern black vases, and gold crystal chandeliers draped in leaves and candles hung from the ceiling. The couples favorite part? The dessert bar complete with cake pops, macarons, shooters, and assorted bite-sized bars. See the full board here.
