Sean and Susan’s hip Los Angeles affair is the ultimate in modern romance. From a stationery suite designed by the groom himself to a delectable set of desserts, the polished ivory, peach, and pewter celebration features so many cool details we’re not quite sure where to begin.  So, instead of blabbering on, we’ll let Amelia Lyon’s amazing images do the talking instead. Sean and Susan dated for six years before heading to the altar. Though they grew up in the same town, they didn’t meet until freshman year at UC-Irvine, and didn’t start dating until senior year, when they bonded over study sessions and long car rides as commuter students. After school, the relationship turned long-distance when Sean moved to Texas, but the pair stuck it out. As Susan says, she knew they were “MFEO” (that’s shorthand for ‘meant for each other’), and that was all she needed to keep the faith.

Holiday weeks are such a nice time to cozy up with love stories… especially those with heartfelt elements that just shine right thru the photos.  Erica and James’ big day couldn’t be more brimming with creativity and distinct, heartwarming inspiration!  The couple personally touched every detail of the day.  Both are creatives, a wedding planning dream team- James is a graphic designer and Erica is the lead designer of Rustic Charm, a boutique event styling and rental company.  James designed the paper goods while Erica went about incorporating incredible vintage elements into the rustic New Jersey setting.  Enjoy their story in photos by Amie Schroeder Photography.

The bride says, ‘James and I just fit. Finding each other was like finding a super comfy hooded sweatshirt – like you didn’t know how comfortable life could be and then one day, there it is, and your life is never the same. It’s all cotton-y and plush…and even if it’s windy, you can pull the hood on. Then you stop and think, wow, I am never going to be the same. This sweatshirt is going to keep me warm all the days of my life.’

Having grown up on 5oo+ lush acres of land, Erica had her sights set on an outdoor wedding with a tent, a barn, and shabby-chic style. They searched high and low for the kind of venue that had the bare bones – one that they could go to town with.  Hosted at the Raritan Inn at Middle Valley, the day had all the makings of a classic, at-home feel, graced with found items and rustic appeal.

James designed the one-of-a-kind save the dates, invitations, programs, menus and game cards for each and every setting. When selecting the props, they envisioned the comforts of home being taken outdoors, and romanced by nature and lush greens.

The reception was a rustic dream; with the help of Erica’s mom (and Rustic Charm business partner), hand-cut burlap runners, lemon leaf table garlands, amber Anjous pears, and darling graphic love quotes were all in their perfect place.  There is so much to admire!  Erica and James have quite the ‘how we met’ story, which you can catch down below…
