* Dreamy Forest Theme Wedding by Joshua Zuckerman Photography
Posted on September 20th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
Alyssa and Alex’s wedding embraced the romanticism of the Tarrytown, NY venue and their natural style. Think woodland whimsy meets East Coast classic. They brought the outdoors inside with rustic décor and seasonal ivory flowers. Enjoy this spread of forest- inspired beauty, captured by Joshua Zuckerman Photography.
The couple married in front of a lush floral display, designed by Diana Gould. Both Alyssa and Alex have musical theater backgrounds (Alex does improv on the weekends), so their wedding was doused with theatrical flair. The tone of the day was lighthearted and sweet, and packed with laughter.
The reception reminds me of an enchanted forest in the springtime… The escort display of polished stones sat amongst soft moss while candlelight surrounded the tall, rustic centerpieces. The couple’s dog, Bean, was featured in spirit on top of the super fun, ‘Love’-printed cake by Sweet Lisa’s. Which I love.
Sending crazy happy wedding wishes to Alyssa and Alex and big thanks to Joshua Zuckerman for sharing…

* One-of-a-Kind Vintage Charmer by Oz Visuals
Posted on August 27th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
If I had to describe Danielle and Cody’s day in two words… darling and dreamy are the two that come to mind. These college sweethearts planned a wedding centered around summer and their deep appreciation for family and friends. Danielle is from Iowa, Cody from California, so their families are spread far and wide. They knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get all of their loved ones in the same place at the same time, so the week of the wedding was like a family reunion! Everyone came together to help out with last minute details and the result was so lovely. Get ready to swoon over the handmade details, gorgeous setting, and unforgettable vintage style, all photographed by Oz Visuals.
Danielle is a country girl at heart, so Honey and Poppies used a variety of wildflowers and pastoral blooms in the floral design. The bridesmaids wore fun, vintage style frocks by etsy designer Miss Brache. A palette of teal, coral, yellow, green and white gave the romantic celebration a splash of sweet summertime whimsy.
The ceremony took place under a rustic floral archway on the awe-inspiring Saddlerock Ranch property. Guests found shade under pastel parasols, as they reveled in the couple’s heartfelt vows. Cody’s sweet expression of commitment moved Danielle and half the crowd to tears.
After a perfect ceremony, guests enjoyed a casual cocktail hour with blankets on the lawn, baskets of food, and bocce ball. The reception was an absolute dream, with lights hanging from trees overhead, an elaborate spread of charming, eclectic décor and family style tables that encouraged conversation and connecting. Danielle and Cody poured themselves into love-filled DIYs and you can tell that every last detail was thoughtfully planned and executed. What a charmer!

* Msxtal’s Rustic-Luxe Real Wedding
Posted on August 20th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
It’s always such a treat to feature the wedding of our beloved members. Crystal (known as msxtal) spent the months before her wedding planning on the pages of PW! She met Wicksell in January of 2006 when he landed a job at the ad agency she worked at. They are both designers and poured themselves into designing every last detail of the day. Their approach to planning included personalizing everything, not going into debt, and staying true to themselves. The result was an unforgettable day of rustic florals and luxe touches in South Florida. I’m so. in. love. with their stunning portraits by Studio by Carmen Photography!
Crystal is an absolute DIY maven. She created both her bridal belt and hair flower, along with the invitations and all the paper goods. In fact, as a result of all the raves she received about her creative work, Crystal has an invitation business launching this fall!
After five years of dating, Crystal and Wicksell tied the knot in the magnificent courtyard at The Addison. A ravishing afternoon reception followed the morning ceremony. The rustic-luxe feel transitioned into a glamorous party with tall, elegant centerpieces, an exquisite cake and even a little break dancing!
How cute are these? Guests were sent home with cupcakes and, as a tribute to the couple’s Haitian heritage, mini bottles of Barbancourt Rhum. Crystal designed the labels for both, making every last detail so perfectly personalized for their special day.
Happiest wishes to Crystal and Wicksell!

* Artsy Brooklyn Real Wedding by Katie Osgood
Posted on July 23rd, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
What a treat it is to feature the wedding of a couple of very talented creative types… Clara and Dave went all out designing and creating a funky, artistic wedding in Brooklyn that was totally, perfectly them. After looking at venues that were not quite their style, Clara and Dave found the Galapagos Art Space and fell in love. Armed with two pantone colors, Clara began the search for the perfect papers, inks, stamps, flowers, and accessories that would become the expression of both her and Dave’s vision. The DIY element of this wedding is so impressive; we’re delighted to share this unique set of photos by Katie Osgood Photography!
Clara, a graphic designer by trade, dreamed up an entire suite of modern paper goods; she also made the boutonnieres and bow-ties, and with a little help from a good friend, executed the rest of the florals. We just love the awesome candy apple red that gave this modern, urban wedding a distinctive look.
Dave and his pals did the full reception setup the morning of, before fancying up in suits and Clara’s handmade bow-ties! Dave also designed and set up a DIY photo booth- they used their iMac to capture, frame and print photo booth favors for guests to take home.
The ceremony took place in front of the scenic Brooklyn Bridge (and their addition of colorful balloons and paper flowers), in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Perfectly worded and officiated by their dear friend/roommate/florist extraordinaire, the ceremony was extra special- filled with laughter and tears.
After enjoying the breeze on an oddly warm October day in New York, everyone headed over to the Galapagos Art Space for the party! Even the guestbook was brilliantly thought up- they created a large puzzle out of one of their engagement photos. Friends and family wrote well wishes on the backs of the pieces, and the kids had a blast piecing it together at the reception.
The gem that is the Galapagos Art Space is a rockin’ party spot. Guests danced under colorful lanterns, and came back to Earth for an incredible piece of Lady M Confections cake and a scoop of organic ice cream from the Blue Marble Ice Cream cart. All this creativity has us sooo inspired! Make sure to see the full spread of photos here.
