* Lauren + Mike: A Fuchsia and Black NYC-Themed Wedding by Calynn Berry

Q: What’s black, white, and hot pink all over? A: Lauren and Mike’s modern NYC-themed nuptials! Though this Manhattan-based couple married in Rochester, Michigan, the Big Apple was a major source of inspiration for their glam ballroom wedding. “Ever since I saw the Sex & the City movie, I knew that I wanted black bridesmaid dresses with bright fuchsia flowers,” says Lauren. With the help of Courtney at Petals Planning Company, the rest of the graphic decor followed suit! Thanks to photographer Calynn Berry for sharing her images of this metropolitan celebration.

This carefree British Columbia wedding is exactly what we want to see now that it’s hitting 80 degrees in DC! Set at the all-kinds-of gorgeous Sea Breeze Lodge at Hornby Island, Robyn and Jamie’s waterside celebration is the perfect example of how energized and unforgettable a DIY wedding can truly be (the couple called on family and friends to help with everything from making the bouquet to officiating the ceremony).
“We just wanted a fun, fresh vibe and lots of bright colors,” says bride Robyn. Mission accomplished, we think! Thanks to Rebecca Amber Photography for sharing the day with us—we guarantee you’ll be gunning for a trip to shore halfway through the story.

Doesn’t that palette just sound so fabulous? Michelle and Ken’s California wedding was enchanting to say the least. With a modern vision, amazing details, and bright pink pops of color… there’s was a recipe for a fun, gorgeous wedding! The two met when they were paired up as partners at a cotillion. From the look of this first photo, it appears that Ken is as chivalrous as the day they met… so sweet! A very special thanks to Sarina Love Photography for sending these photos our way….
I’ve never seen such a hot, hot pink bouquet! Tracey Go from The Flower Tray spray painted baby’s breath and billy balls to get the look. The bouquets matched the bridal party’s custom-made attire to a tee. Per the usual, it was a gorgeous sunny day in June in Southern California.
The bride is a nurse practitioner and the groom is an optometrist, so they had a “Rx for a good marriage” prescription pad for a little personalization! The bride made it herself, along with all the invitations, programs, seating assignments and menus. We love a good DIYer… with some help from Skybox Event Productions, the result was a ravishing reception at the Padua Hills Theater in Claremont.
The reception was relaxed, fun, and filled with dancing! I’m in awe of this cake… it featured lyrics from their first dance song- Stay with You by John Legend. So unique and perfectly suited for the fabulous party.
Wishing newlywed bliss to Michelle + Ken!

This hot pink Chicago wedding is an absolute stunner! Julie and Caleb, both originally from Michigan, recently made Chicago their home. Since most of the guests were from out-of-town, they really wanted to do it up Chicago-style. The bright pink accents, amazing venue and all of their attention to personalized detail added up to one dazzling wedding day! Here goes, starting with a pic of the bride’s fab pair of Manolo Blahniks, photographed by Wasio Photography.
Julie and Caleb’s wedding party was dressed to the nines. Caleb looked super sharp in black tie attire, Julie accented her sweetheart neckline gown with a jeweled belt. Each bridesmaid wore a platinum gown of her choosing and the flower girls were beyond adorable in handmade tutu dresses. Julie and Caleb were married by a close friend in Grant Park, with Chicago’s Buckingham Fountain as the priceless backdrop.
After grabbing portraits against the urban landscape, the crew headed over to the infamous John G. Shedd Aquarium for the party of a lifetime. As part of their tribute to Chicago, the couple designed graphic place cards with imagery of city icons. Each of the eighteen tables was named after a Chicago landmark and accompanied by a photo of the couple in front of said landmark… The result of a twelve hour engagement session!
The couple put so much thought into the entire event; the evening culminated with fireworks on the terrace! The icing on the cake? Julie surprised Caleb with a groom’s cake in the form of a Ducati… and keys to the matching real thing!
Happiest of wishes to this gorgeous couple
