Emily and Jeff were married at The Pittsburgh Project with a reception following at The Renaissance Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. on January 25. The bride looked stunning in a beaded V-neck ballgown and a white bolero. She wore her hair in a curly updo and accessorized with a twisted pearl necklace and pearl earrings. She carried a winter bouquet of ferns, roses, alstroemeria, thistle, hypericum berries, and brunia berries. Her ‘maids donned long forest green gowns with off-white knitted shawls. The groom looked dapper in a white button-down, suspenders, and a forest green bow tie. The groomsmen complemented his look with forest green neck ties.  250 guests were greeted by a romantic lantern candle, a chalkboard sign displaying the wedding party accented with greenery. “We wanted to merge the two worlds of the woods and urban living. Not to mention, there’s nothing prettier than a forest covered in snow,” Emily said of their wedding inspiration. The venue was lined with votive candles and decorated with various greenery and birch tree accents. Following the ceremony, guests made their way  to the reception. They found their seating assignments displayed on a moss-covered screen. Other reception decor included a wooden log that doubled as a vessel for guest cards. Waxflower and greens sat in silver vases as centerpieces. Guests enjoyed a nice sit down dinner with multiple courses, and indulged in a three-tier cake decorated with pinecones, sugar succulents, and a metallic monogram. ” I quickly realized that what looks good for other people isn’t necessarily what I want,” Emily said of designing her wedding day look. “The wedding is about the whole family.” See the full board here.

Kristen and Ken were married at Congress Hall in Cape May, N.J. on October 12. Since the couple currently resides in New York City, they decided to have a mini-destination wedding at one of the nation’s best beach towns! The bride wore a sweetheart satin mermaid wedding gown, accessorized with her hair in a classic updo and comb, while the groom wore a dark gray suit, accessorized with a patterned tie. Bridesmaids wore short navy blue dresses and carried bouquets of white dahlias, red roses, and purple thistles. Don’t you just love their J.Crew bow pumps? Since the handfasting ceremony was to take place on the historic hotel’s front porch, guests were greeted with a chalkboard sign that said, “Snuggle Up” and asked to grab shawls to keep warm. After the newlyweds were announced husband and wife, the celebration began. Keeping with the seaside theme, escort cards were held in place with tiny pieces of coral, but reception tables were decorated with silver charger plates, napkins wrapped in striped ribbon, and lantern centerpieces that lit up the ballroom. Of course, the night ended with a picture picture moment of the four-tiered cake being cut. See the full board here.

Amy and Taylor were married at Stafford’s Perry Hotel in Petoskey, Mich., perched high on a bluff overlooking the Little Traverse Bay. “The weather was perfect!” Amy said. “We got really lucky because it had been a fairly chilly summer up until just before our weekend, but it was sunny, warm, and beautiful on our wedding day.” The bride wore a one-shoulder wedding gown, accessorized with her great-grandmother’s pearl and crystal necklace, which was also worn by her grandmother, her sister, my mother, and two aunts when they got married, while the groom wore a white jacket with black tuxedo pants and bow tie. The outdoor ceremony took place under a tent. Aisles were scattered with rose petals and lanterns hung overhead. Reception tables featured silver glass mercury candleholders and vases filled with single roses and mini lavender-scented lotions as favors since Michigan is known for growing it. Khrista + Jeremy: An Artsy Gray and Yellow New York Hotel Wedding By SH Photography

Khrista and Jeremy first met in high school through mutual friends. “We were both vegan and really interested in animals, art, design, history, and cars,” Khrista said. “Although Jeremy is definitely more interest in cars than I am, but I try to keep up.” The bride wore a Leanne Marshall short wedding dress and a pair of vintage yellow heels whereas Jeremy wore a gray suit and gray and yellow striped tie. All of the floral arrangements featured an array of wildflowers, including daisies, dahlias, and succulents. “We were married in the Greenhouse Room,” she said. “It had beautiful hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and tons of charm.” After they had exchanged their vows, they had their moms water a “unity tree.” For the reception decor, “we were going for a rustic artsy look,” Khrista said. “We used lots of old books, burlap, warm colors, and chalkboards.” Centerpieces sat atop books and were sprinkled with fun-shaped confetti. Besides the homemade cake, guests enjoyed a candy buffet filled with the couple’s favorite treats like York peppermint patties, Swedish fish, and Twix bars. “I hope [the cake] tastes as good a year later when we attempt to eat the top half on our first anniversary,” she said.
