Meredith and Nate were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, Ill., followed by a reception at Starved Rock Lodge in Utica, Ill. on June 29. Meredith looked stunning in an all-lace mermaid silhouette gown with cap sleeves, keyhole back, and a handmade sash. She wore her hair in an updo and carried a classic bouquet of white garden roses, peonies, hydrangea, ranunculus, and dusty miller. Her ‘maids donned light blue chiffon dresses with various necklines. The groom looked dapper in a dark suit with a light blue striped neck tie and a boutonniere made by the bride. “We had a lot of fun putting together a wedding that would be meaningful to us and to our guests,” Meredith said of the planning process. The pair exchanged vows in front of 85 family members and friends in a traditional church ceremony. A reception followed at Starved Rock Lodge, where the couple went on one of their first dates. “We wanted a small, intimate venue and wedding,” Meredith said of their choice. The reception decor featured a vintage mailbox adorned with burlap bunting for cards, a large framed photo of the couple for guests to sign, blue mason jars which were the inspiration for the color scheme. “We loved this blue/green color and the vintage charm,” Meredith said. Guests looked to the handwritten chalkboard to find their seats at tables with white linens and mercury glass votives, white flowers, and wood slice accents. Guests danced the night away and posed for pictures in the photo booth. They indulged in a monogrammed two-tiered cake adorned with a mint banner cake topper and received chocolate-covered rock favors. Meredith and Nate did their best to keep perspective throughout wedding planning. “Above all, we always tried to remember that all that mattered were the vows we made to each other to commit the rest of our lives to one another and to let God be at the center of our marriage,” Meredith said. Carly + Greg: A Rustic Neutral Fall Illinois Farm Wedding By Maggie Fortson Photography

Carly and Greg were married at Orchard Ridge Farms in Rockton, Ill. on October 21. “I always knew that I wanted to get married outside in the fall,” Carly said. “I saw a picture of Orchard Ridge Farms before Greg and I were even engaged and couldn’t get it out of my head.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair down in loose curls, while the groom wore a tan suit, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore matching neutral lace dresses and carried bouquets of baby’s breath. “I wanted our wedding to have a laid back feel, yet one that was personal to us and represented us,” she said. Since Carly was an art major in college, she decided to use her talents to create much of the decor. The ceremony programs were printed on paper bags, which held petals for guests to toss during the recessional. “We wrote our own vows which was one of my favorite parts and something I will never forget saying to one another,” Carly said. Believe it or not, but the week before the wedding it snowed! The day of the wedding though, the skies were clear, and the sun was out. Perfect for their 400 attendees, who drove nearly 2 hours for their Sunday soiree. The favors? Handmade ceramic bowls. See the full board here.

Abi and Tim first met when they were 14 years old, but didn’t start dating until college. They dated for four years before getting engaged, and six months later, they were married in the bride’s parent’s backyard. “I have always had a love for nature and being outdoors,” Abi said. “I knew that I wanted an outdoor wedding and to bring a very natural feel to it, which meant walking in the grass and having wood incorporated as much as possible.” The bride wore a satin sweetheart a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a loose, curly sideswept updo, while the groom wore a gray three-piece suit. Bridesmaids wore turquoise dresses with illusion necklines and carried hydrangea bouquets. “I’m an artistic person; so I made wedding signs out of wood I stained and stenciled myself,” she said. The ceremony aisle was lined with tree stumps and the backdrop was a panel of white curtains. “While Tim and I were taking photos at a nearby forest preserve, we had set up games such as bags, giant jenga, badminton, and croquet so that guests were able to enjoy themselves before dinner,” Abi said. The reception was held inside a tent, decorated with mason jar centerpieces atop wood slices cut by Abi’s father, small wedding cakes and favor boxes filled with fudge at each table. “After dinner my husband played a song live that he had written and played after we got engaged,” she said. How romantic! See the full board here.
