* Supernita + Vivek: A Savannah Destination Wedding by Nadia D. Photography
Posted on September 13th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings, Reception.
Savannah, Georgia, with its historic charm and picturesque setting has always been one of Supernita and Vivek’s favorite weekend getaways. After they got engaged there, they couldn’t wait to share the experience with loved ones – making it an obvious choice for their wedding destination. Recognizing that this meant that some of their guests would have to travel long distances to celebrate, the couple wanted to show their appreciation by making the experience as intimate and personable as possible. I’m just glued to these dramatic images by Nadia D. Photography.
Supernita and Vivek’s wedding spanned an entire weekend, and incorporated traditional Indian ceremonies, alongside newer traditions of their own interpretation. The celebratory weekend culminated in an absolutely ravishing reception in The Grand Ballroom at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort. A palette of deep blue, gold and ivory sparkled in the candlelight and there were elegant details everywhere! Each guest was greeted at the dinner table with a crystal-embellished ivory rose and a personalized thank you note. I so admire their careful and heartfelt planning…
The final evening concluded with not one, but two special treats. First, that cake by Minette Rushing?! Divine. And of course, a radiant display of fireworks was shot into the night sky to cap of the party!
A special thanks to Shasha Vasilyuk at I Do PR for sending this over!

* Color & Culture in Portola Valley by Volatile Photography

I’m awe-struck, awe-inspired and in love with today’s real wedding and so excited to share! Emily and Adam’s Indian-Jewish fusion wedding was a celebration of culture and tons of color… which just makes me so happy. A bold palette and unique, very personalized details made the day a total work of art. In fact, they did much of the hard work themselves… Emily and her friends even sourced most of the florals from the San Francisco Flower Mart! Kristy from Volatile Photography captured every last ounce of vibrant color… These photos are sure to brighten your day and inspire your palette!
Emily’s vibrant sari was her mother’s, from her wedding day 37 years ago. She also wore her grandmother’s jewels in combination with a few pieces she picked up at Sagar in Sunnyvale.
The couple took their vows under a traditional Jewish chuppah- with bright floral garlands hanging from the fabric. Emily and Adam’s fresh approach to blending tradition was deeply personal and very alive.
The bride and groom met at a party that Emily’s roommates threw. Adam was standing near the door, just about to leave, when Emily spotted him from across the room. She instantly new that she couldn’t let him get away and made a bee-line for the door to strike up a conversation (just like in a movie)! Ever since that night, they’ve barely spent a day apart.
The vibrant, airy wedding was held at the Portola Valley Town Hall, a gorgeous architectural venue. Vivid blooms, patterns, texture, and eventually a room of colorfully dressed guests filled the hall with bright energy.
There is more to see from the day; head here to revel in the full story!

* Vibrant Hindu Ceremony in Atlanta by Nadia D Photography
Posted on March 13th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
These photos are sure to sweep you away to the ancient, exotic culture of India. It’s hard to believe, but Indira and Shankar’s vibrant, color-filled, and traditional Hindu wedding was actually held in Atlanta! Nadia D was there to capture the sacred ceremonies and exquisite beauty of their union.
Sophisticated, Indian arts had a special place in the day, from Indira’s mendhi to the painted outdoor floor. The bride wore several changes of traditional attire throughout the wedding celebration, each one utterly unique and gorgeous.

Indira is from Atlanta, Shankar from New Jersey. They met in college, and remained close friends for ten years! They finally got together in 2010, and were engaged a year later.
A daytime ceremony turned into a sophisticated evening reception at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel. The reception was imbued with fall colors, candlelight, and a rich blend of greenery and florals.

What an utter treat to indulge in these incredible photos! All our best to the newlyweds!
A special thanks to Nadia D and I Do PR for sharing this with us.

* Ravishing Multicultural Soirée in the Twin Cities by Photogen Inc.

What a gorgeous Real Wedding of the Week we have for you! Jenny and Aashish blended two cultures in a ravishing, radiant ceremony and reception in Minneapolis. We’re just loving the contemporary portraits and radiant details, captured by Photogen Inc.
The couple wanted to integrate both of their cultures, religions and backgrounds into the day. To do this, they incorporated rich and elegant Indian details into Jenny’s Midwest scene. Aashish wore traditional Indian attire, while Jenny wore a gown by David’s Bridal, paired with a red scarf and gold bangles.

Cranberry reds and vibrant yellows bloomed brightly in the bouquets. Pazzobello did an incredible job capturing the couple’s vision in the florals and décor.
Two officiants helped to unify their backgrounds into a memorable and completely unique ceremony. Jenny and Aashish sat under an exquisite mandap, also designed by Pazzobella.
The reception was clean and modern. Simple black and white linens provided a foundation for exotic florals, and a marvel of a cake by D’Amico and Sons.

Oh, but there’s lots more to see… Enjoy the full story and album in the {Gallery}!
Many thanks to the talented Eliesa at Photogen; and a big congratulations to Jenny + Aashish!
