* Indigo Elegance in San Antonio {A Real Wedding by Q Weddings}
Posted on October 22nd, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
Lauren grew up attending Temple Beth-El in San Antonio, but never dreamed that the ballroom could be so transformed for her wedding day. She and Paul married in an exquisite ceremony and hosted a reception soaked in indigo elegance. The attention to detail was impeccable, with tons of thought poured into the elements. I’m delighted to share their very special day as this week’s Real Wedding of the Week! A big thanks to one of our favorite Austin-based photographers, Suzi of Q Weddings for sending these gorgeous photos!
To honor their individuality and style, Lauren had each bridesmaid choose her own look. I love the distinct, rich palette of hues and how they blend together so beautifully. Lauren wore a lace and ruffle-embellished Augusta Jones gown and carried a classic bouquet of ivory blooms. The bride has a love for peacock feathers, so subtle accents were woven into the evening affair.
After a ceremony under a chuppah at the end of the candle-lined aisle, the couple was on cloud nine. An unforgettable reception in the transformed ballroom of the Temple followed. Caplan Miller Events ensured every detail was in place; Petal Pushers nailed the floral displays that were altogether awe-inspiring. From the ghost chairs to the gold chargers, the party was imbued with sophistication.
In addition to dining on banana flambé for dessert, guests enjoyed this gold-coin cake by Cathy Young, which complemented the rich blue ambiance. There’s tons more from this formal San Antonio beauty over in our real wedding gallery… head over to read the full story of their day.

* Samantha + Tanner: A Hint of 1920′s Paris
Posted on September 6th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings, Reception.
Samantha and Tanner got engaged in Paris, symbolically creating a ‘lock of love’ on the Pont Du Alexandre III Bridge, throwing the key into the Seine River. Talk about romantic… They drew from their epic engagement to plan a wedding with French inspirations, every detail a charming tribute to their commitment to one another. A day of feather, furs, glitter and glam unfolded, here’s their story in photos by Ashley Rose Photography.
Samantha wore a chic, fitted Priscilla of Boston gown; Tanner wore a custom tuxedo with a herringbone button down and bowtie. Don’t they look totally perfect together?! Shades of plum and indigo gave the palette wow-factor, while simple white pomanders hung along the aisle on the rooftop of Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach.
The bride’s favorite moment was standing at the altar next to her future husband, as her brother officiated the ceremony. She says, ‘At that moment, all the noise of the outside world faded away as he spoke directly to us. It felt as if we were the only people present.’ After the dashing afternoon ceremony, everyone headed down to the Media Room for a dramatic, 1920′s Paris-style reception. Guests scooped up vintage key escort cards as they made their way into the glamorous party, which was outfitted with crystal chandeliers, tall feather centerpieces, and the glow of magenta light.

Samantha’s advice: ‘Take the boring traditions you don’t like about weddings and throw them out the window! But most importantly, enjoy every second of it because it really does go by in the blink of an eye.’
A sincere thank you to Samantha and Tanner for sharing their stunning photos and romantic story with us; we’re awe-inspired.
