Brittany and Mark’s wedding in Salt Lake City was held in November… it was intimate, relaxed, and cozy… held in the evening hours at the Mill Creek Inn.  Kristopher Orr documented their memory-filled day in beautiful film photograms.  This first one, so crazy beautiful…  The couple was very relaxed about planning the details, they were mostly concerned with creating a close and comfortable atmosphere with their very favorite people and serving great food.  They worked with a unique deep purple, mustard, and black palette, which was very pretty in the autumn mountain setting.  The pair met at a party while both attending the University of Utah.  A year and a half after they got together, they decided to tie the knot.  Mark works for a small roofing company and Brittany is a PR rep for a physical therapy company.  They share passions for exotic travel, photography, and adventurous outdoor sports!  For a wedding gift, Mark got Brittany an old Yashica 124G Mat twin lens camera. She got him a framed scratch map of the world on which to document their travels together.

During the course of the evening, Mark and Brittany found lots of time to sit and visit with guests.  Just before they cut the cake, Mark gave a beautiful, impromptu speech about his love for Brittany and his gratitude for everyone that had come to share the day.  The entire wedding night just felt like a big, relaxing get together with the people they love.

Allison and Mark’s day was very intimate…only fifteen guests in attendance.

We were taken with the gorgeous film photographs by Love Me Sailor and the pretty jewel-toned palette.  And we thought it inspiring, the way they celebrated their love with a cozy little ceremony in the arboretum and private restaurant reception. The couple met in the West Village in NYC, but they live in Los Angeles, where Allison opened a makeup and beauty lounge called  Blushington- on Sunset Boulevard.  All the ladies at the wedding were treated to hair styles by drybar and makeup by Blushington!  Above, Allison poses with her sister/best friend.  The guest list included only ‘immediate’ family- parents, siblings, and their children.

The private reception was held at a romantic little restaurant called Julienne.  Allison decorated a long family-style table with florals in the colorful, seasonal palette. 

Throughout the planning process, Allison and Mark focused on one thing: their lifelong commitment to one another.  This steadfast devotion made the day utterly unforgettable.  See the full gallery {here}.

As we soak up the last few weeks of summer sun, we’ve got a vibrant yellow and damask California real wedding for you. The lovely couple, Holly and Dieter, met on eHarmony!  A group of co-workers used their savvy party planning skills to coordinate the entire event. (We’re in awe of how the crew pulled together the dessert table)! Holly and Dieter said their vows looking out over the vast blue sea.. and had an intimate gathering with friends and family at their home near Dana Point.  Thanks to Kristi Klemens for sharing these photos with us!

In the midst of summer, I’m going thru a little season envy right now… (Ya know, I start to think about my winter wardrobe and how nice it would be to pull out sweater.. in the middle of winter I miss all my summer dresses).  I decided to cure that by featuring this rustic, intimate winter cabin wedding!  Alison and Andrew held their DIY-style day in the small patch of rural bliss called Smithers, British Columbia.  Enjoy the sweet and simple styling! This week we’ve featured Christie and David’s love story as our real wedding of the week!  The couple met on eHarmony.com.  After their first meal together at a Burbank café, the two knew there was something special.  Two and a half years later, David proposed to Christie during a hot air balloon ride overlooking California wine country.  They planned their vineyard wedding in five months, and the result was an utterly romantic and intimate day.

Talk about romantic… Vancouver natives, Dianne and Richard, had a destination wedding at the Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley… the ceremony was lovely, against the beautiful landscape of the resort.. the reception was utterly exquisite, filled with candlelight.  But most of all, we’re swooning over the ruby and violet color palette. Dianne and Richard are the sweetest couple you can imagine, and wanted to travel from their hometown Vancouver, BC, to Napa Valley for their November wedding.  Food and wine are very important to them, so they selected the Calistoga Ranch for their special day.  In addition to amazing cuisine and paired wine, the resort features intimacy and luxury accommodations that Dianne and Richard wanted for their guests.  This is an especially close family, because Dianne’s twin sister is married to Richard’s first cousin and best friend, making this a true family affair!  There were twenty-eight guests in attendance, including two-week-old baby Isla who received her passport within hours of the wedding and traveled with her mom, the bride’s sister and Matron of Honor, to arrive at the last minute!

Two weeks later Dianne and Richard hosted an at-home reception for over a hundred friends and family members.  As the bride describes, “It was a bit crazy at the time trying to organize two events within two weeks of each other, but it was an amazing night to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and family and have everyone be a part of our happiness.”  -Suzy Berberian
