Blissful Sayulita Real Wedding by Jillian Mitchell
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

My oh my, am I excited to share the real wedding of the week with you!  Jillian Mitchell’s photos of this destination wedding in Sayulita sent me straight to tropical blissland… Sara and Jeremiah are a lovely couple from Colorado; their wedding wish was simply to enjoy their nearest and dearest for a few days in paradise.  I’m pretty much in awe of the vibrant florals by Fran Salazar and the couple just raved about how breezy their planning process was due to the excellent help of Yazmin from Sea of Dreams!
The maids were dressed pretty in BHLDN frocks, complementing the foundational champagne and purple palette.  Orchids, marigolds, and roses accented the palette with bursts of bright color. After a romantic ceremony under a gauzy archway, the scene was set for the party.  An outdoor lounge with comfy couches, bright pillows, and eyecatching florals provided a chic place to hang out in the warm Sayulita air.  Sara and Jeremiah celebrated their pups by naming the tables after them and featuring their pics!

There’s lots more… see the complete album here.

All our best to Sara & Jeremiah ♥ Big thanks to Jillian Mitchell for sending these photos our way!

From the Bride: Jeremiah and I were friends for a few years before we started dating in 2005. I was living in Vail, Colorado and he was in Denver. It was natural for us to start dating because we were in the same group of friends. We were together for six years before getting engaged. After a year of being engaged we had the most amazing wedding I could have ever imagined.

Jeremiah is the owner of a successful painting company, Vivax Pro Painting and I am an Area Manager with Arbonne International and work as a Physician Assistant at Children’s Hospital Colorado. We live in
Littleton, Colorado with our dog Chase.

We wanted to have all of our closest family and friends in a location where we could truly enjoy them for an extended period. Nobody had to race back to work, or worry about driving home. We were inspired by our close friends Mike and Jacqueline, after attending their destination wedding we knew that we wanted to have that experience for ourselves, our family, and friends. The most important part of planning for us was that it was easy and that we wouldn’t have to be very hands on. Basically we wanted to show up, enjoy each other, and enjoy our family and friends. After falling in love with our photographer, Jillian Mitchell’s work online, she agreed to meet us in Sayulita during our planning trip. She was so cool, and we knew that we wanted to spend the day with her and have amazing pictures forever. She introduced us to Yazmin, our wedding planner, who is the most genuine person and very good at what she does. Yazmin works with a group of people that are just extraordinary and professional. Our week in Sayulita was stress-free and seriously everything was perfect! I wanted the planning to be simple, and with Yazmin, it was so easy. I don’t know any brides who would say this, but I would do it over in a heartbeat. I trusted my planner completely and she gave us a wedding way above our expectations.

Our immediate family stayed at the gorgeous Villa del Oso where we had our ceremony and reception. We had 65 guests, about half family and half friends who all rented houses or condos along the beach on the North end of Sayulita. We went surfing, swimming in the ocean, hung out on the beach, went out to amazing dinners, enjoyed margaritas and piña coladas on the beach, danced, barbequed at Casa Gallo, and just got to enjoy everyone so much. Our rehearsal dinner was in San Pancho the next town over at Mar Plata which is such a charming and delicious
restaurant overlooking the beach.

After getting ready separately at Villa del Oso we had our “first look”.  This was very special to both of us and I can’t speak for Jeremiah, but it was my favorite part of the entire wedding. Jeremiah was waiting for me, and after seeing each other for the first time, we read our vows in private. (of course Jill was there to capture the moment). We wrote
our own vows and had not seen what the other had written. This was a very special moment. We of course said our vows again during the ceremony, but there was something about saying them alone that just meant the world to us. We were married by our good friend Danica, or D as we like to call her. The ceremony started off with an unexpected fly by. A propeller plane (I don’t even know if you can call it a plane, maybe a glider or something) flew by . . . it was kind of like the start to a football game. We wrote our own ceremony and everything said was meaningful.

At the reception, we had our first dance and dances with our parents. Jeremiah and I danced to ‘Stuck Like Glue’ by Sugarland; we wanted a fun song that we could do a little swing to. The evening could not have been more perfect. Everyone raved about the food, tacos al pastor were the big hit. We had amazing food, open bar, and a desert table. Everyone danced, we just had a blast! It was a great celebration! Fireworks and burritos at the end topped off the night.
