Kristen and Kevin were married at The Carriage House in Mason, Ohio on March 22. The bride looked radiant in a strapless a-line gown and wore her hair in a curly partial updo. She carried a springtime bouquet of pink and white peonies. Her veil had special meaning because she used lace from her mother’s wedding dress to put it together. The groom looked dapper in a gray three-piece suit, which he pinned a lucky penny onto. “I wanted an intimate wedding that included as much meaningful and personal items and touches as possible,” Kristen explained. “I hoped to combine my taste for an elegant and understated wedding with a rustic touch as a way of mending our two styles.” After exchanging both traditional and personal vows in front of 100 guests, the newlyweds recessed down the aisle carrying their son as guests threw rose petals. For the reception, Kristen and Kevin offered a unique menu to their guests. “We chose to have a brunch reception which meant eggs benedict, a waffle bar, sausage and bacon and of course Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s!” Kristen said. Guests sat at round tables with white linens and burlap and lace table runners in wooden folding chairs. Tables featured a mason jar centerpiece with either a candle or pink flowers on top of a wood slice. Guests indulged in a three-tiered cake adorned with roses and watched as Kristen and Kevin played the “shoe-lywed game.” Kristen advises couples to think about what matters most to them when creating their budget. “Define the most important aspects for you and then make it happen. Whether it’s the flowers, the venue or the photographer, pick a few key things and budget from there,” Kristen said. What fabulous advice! See the full board here.

Alicia + John: A Rainy Day Brunch Ohio Garden Wedding By Laura Elaine Photography

Alicia and John were married at Ault Park Rose followed by a brunch reception at the Carnegie Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. ”Our approach to our wedding was to make it as simple as possible, and as much of us as possible,” Alicia said. “John and I have always enjoyed throwing Sunday brunch get-togethers so that seemed like the way to go.” The bride walked down the aisle to a guitar and cello duo performing “Here, There, Everywhere.” Fun fact: it’s the same song her mother walked down the aisle to! During the ceremony, an Irish blessing was given by the officiant. Fun fact: it’s the same blessing the groom’s parents used at their wedding! Fortunately, the rain held off for a while, but there were some showers during the outdoor portraits. No worries – the wedding party just grabbed some umbrellas and smiled through it. After all, it’s good luck! The reception featured a mimosa bar with three different juices, and buffet with bacon, strata, biscuits, and gravy and fruit. ”I love that the china I use for company is literally our wedding china and was used on our wedding day,” she said. “To me, that means more than receiving a full set as gifts.” See the full board here.
