Magical New Jersey Mansion Wedding by Joshua Zuckerman Photography
Posted by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings, Reception

Nothing makes a wedding more like a fairy tale than a truly mesmerizing venue—something Marisa and Harris clearly knew when they selected New Jersey’s breathtaking Natirar Estate as the site for their August nuptials. With sweeping views, a grand ballroom, and plenty of gorgeous countryside to take in behind their outdoor ceremony—there’s simply nothing that’s not magical about this day! We also love that bride Marisa embodied the fairy tale feel of her wedding in her dress selection. Posed in front of Natirar’s paneled wood walls by ace photographer Joshua Zuckerman, she looks every bit the princess in her corset-style ballgown.

Though Marisa and Harris attended the same high school and college, the duo didn’t start dating until well after graduation. Both living at home in New Jersey and working in New York City, they reconnected while commuting into Manhattan and have been together ever since. Their chic, classic wedding is truly one for the story books—we love the subtle hints of sparkle, the classic black and white color palette, and, of course, the stunning ceremony site. Marisa’s parents walked her down a lantern-lined aisle that read “And they lived happily ever after.”  They said ‘I do’ underneath a chandelier-lit chuppah that was partially draped in a veil Marisa’s late aunt had worn at her her own wedding.  Cinderella herself could not have asked for a more romantic place to recite her vows.

After post-ceremony cocktails and appetizers (including mini burgers and mac and cheese shots—yum!), guests were escorted into the mansion’s grand ballroom for the formal reception. Free-standing candles and vases filled with ivory blooms set a magical scene for a night of dinner, dancing, and plenty of sweet surprises. Case in point: the couple’s elegant three-tiered wedding cake had a hidden rainbow filling!

In one final fairy tale detail, attendees were sent home with glass slipper-adorned favor boxes filled with Hershey’s kisses that read “A kiss goodnight from Marisa and Harris.” We love how the couple (with a little help from wedding planner Tina Wayne) stayed true to the magical nature of love down to the very end, and we especially love that Joshua was sweet enough to share these gorgeous photographs with us! A Backyard Beauty in Geneva by Harrison Studio
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Reading Rebecca and Jordan’s how we met story has been the absolute highlight of my day.   You know, the couple really tells it best, so you can read their full recount below (it’s soooo romantic)  but the brief version is that they met in their early college days and spent years as friends.  After college, Rebecca took a job in Germany, while Jordan was working in Milwaukee.  They casually corresponded from afar, and would meet up over the Christmas holiday each year when Rebecca returned from Europe.  One Christmas season, Jordan asked Rebecca on a real date… and later in the week told her that he had inquired about a position near to where she was living in Germany.  Yup, he risked it all to be with her (swoon)!  But that’s all I’ll say… head on down to the bottom for more sweet romance… and in the meantime revel in their beautiful backyard wedding in Geneva, Illinois, photographed by the Michigan-based duo, Ben and Laura of Harrison Studio.

Rebecca is an artist, so she dreamed up the circular invitations and a summery palette of tangerine, coral, mango, and a few other shades of orange.  The detail and décor elements were a creative collaboration between the bride, her mom who is a florist, and a few of Rebecca’s artist friends.  I can’t get enough of all the incredible color!

The week leading up to the wedding set record temperatures in Illinois.  But magically, just before the early evening ceremony began, there was a perfect twenty-degree drop in temperature.   Rebecca and Jordan married poolside at the historic Oscar Swan, which provided the backyard wedding feel that they envisioned.

A tented reception with lots of special touches followed…  The escort cards were tied to a collection of vintage keys,  Rebecca commissioned a colleague to design wire sculptures for the centerpieces, and instead of cake, they served delicious Gelato, which brought a bit of Europe to their midwest wedding.   Be sure to read their epic story just below… it’ll make you giddy.

Many congratulations to the newlyweds and a special thanks to  Harrison Studio for sharing the album with us!

Luxe Irish Castle Inspiration Shoot by Aislinn Events
Posted by Kate. Filed under Photography, Wedding Inspiration

Reminiscent of an enchanting fairytale, Annie Byrne of Aislinn Events designed this luxe inspiration shoot at the majestic Adare Manor in Ireland. An amazing team came together to create the elaborate display of paper goods, florals, décor, dessert and more that perfectly reflected the countryside estate setting. Annie wanted to give a general sense of lushness- warm and a bit smoky with natural textures of leather, fur and pheasant feathers. Feast your eyes on the inspiring photos by Kristen Booth.Cream-toned card stock and gold scripted paper goods by Petite Paper gave a regal impression of age. The color and vibrance of robust jewel-toned florals by Leona Fitzmaurice Lynch just pours thru the photographs.  Annie played on the backdrop by styling the model as the “lady of the manor,” complete with oversized estate jewelry by Knightsbridge Boutique, furs, and feather accessories by Karen Flannery Art. The flowing, feminine gowns were provided by DeStafford Bridal. These opposing concepts of soft beauty against strong architectural bones drove this inspiration shoot.

The tablescape and dessert table were an abundant bouquet of rich colors, including pomegranates poised on each place setting ready for the feast and merriment. The four tiered cream fondant cake by Cloudberry Bakery was delicately painted with copper, orange, and golds to create oversize flowers.  I’m just loving the painted feathers on the cupcakes too!

Now there’s a photoshoot…  Thanks to this extraordinarily talented team of vendors abroad!
