Kristen and Rob were married at Dellwood Country Club in Dellwood, Minn. on October 20. Kristen looked radiant in a strapless A-line gown featuring a lace bodice and a delicate pearl necklace. She wore her hair in a curly partial updo and carried a bright bouquet of roses, thistle, and calla lilies mixed with organic accents like lotus pods, scabiosa pods, fiddlehead fern curls, brunia berries, and seeded eucalyptus. Her ‘maids donned navy blue lace dresses featuring scalloped hem and necklines. The groom and his men looked dapper in light gray three-piece suits. “Kristen and Rob had the most perfect Minnesota weather for their outdoor ceremony. . .the sun was setting as they shared their vows and committed their lives to each other,” Erin Johnson, their photographer, said. The pair tied the knot under an arch adorned with flowers and greenery, as well as forest-inspired blooms. A reception followed in the club’s dining room, where guests were greeted by a wooden box adorned with bunting as a place to put well-wishes cards. “They included tons of DIY details, from the airplane place cards to the library card happily ever after guest book,” Erin said. The space was adorned with beautiful drapery, twinkling lights, and crystal beading. Guests sat at tables covered in white linens and tall branch centerpieces. Guests danced the night away and enjoyed a Belgian waffle wedding cake! “Their wedding was filled with organic and real emotions of love and laughter,” their photographer, Erin, said. Joanna + Andy: Elegant and Classic Midwest Ballroom Wedding by Bryan Jonathan Weddings
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Hal Stoa

Joanna and Andy were married at Luther Seminary followed by a reception at the Lafayette Club in St. Paul, Minn. on October 18. The bride looked stunning in a fit-and-flare strapless gown with a drop waist and ruffled skirt. She wore her hair wavy and swept to the side and accessorized with a pair of gorgeous drop earrings and a bedazzled hair piece. She carried a romantic bouquet of pink garden roses and black and white anemones, which she pinned her grandmother’s gold hummingbird brooch to. Her ‘maids donned champagne dresses complete with chiffon skirts and beaded bodices. The groom and his men opted for classic black three-piece suits. The pair tied the knot in a traditional church ceremony in front of 240 friends and family members. “We wanted a classic, sophisticated, and romantic wedding,” Joanna said of her inspiration. A reception followed in a glamorous ballroom at the Lafayette Club. “We chose our reception venue not only for the beautiful classic ballroom, but also because of its setting on Lake Minnetonka – Andy loves the lakes,” Joanna said. Guests sat at round tables dressed in white linens and gold chiavari chairs with black napkins and seat cushions. The wedding party sat at a head table facing out towards the guests. “Because we met at the mailboxes, we incorporated a subtle mailbox theme at our wedding, including printing ‘their love story began at the mailbox’ on the backflap of our invitations, decorating our escort cards with postage stamps, and setting out miniature mailboxes with truffles tucked inside for our guests’ favors at the reception (these also served as placecard holders),” Joanna said of the personal touches. After dinner and dancing, the newlyweds cut the glamorous  four-tier white cake, which had a topper reading ‘The Sweetest Day’ on it, to honor the holiday they were married on. Joanna’s best advice for brides? Be patient! “Don’t get discouraged if you don’t find the right hairstyle, makeup, or dress on the first try. These things take time.” See the full board here.

Allison and Colin were married at Aria at the Jeune Lune in Minneapolis, Minn. on February 22. Allison stunned in a vintage-inspired v-neck gown with gold lace beading. She donned her hair in a vintage glam chignon bun and wore crystal drop earrings. She carried a classic white bouquet of hydrangea and ranunculus, which had a photo of the bride’s late grandmother attached to it. Her ‘maids looked fabulous in long-sleeve champagne sequined dresses. The groom looked dapper in a dark blue pin-stripe three-piece suit, while his men donned dark suits and champagne neck ties. The pair exchanged vows at Aria, an industrial event space downtown. “The amazing beaded gold lace on my gown completely inspired the vintage glam feeling I knew would blend flawlessly with Aria’s raw space,” Allison said. They were married under three gorgeous crystal chandeliers and in front of stunning white drapery. A reception followed at the same location. There was a family photo display and vintage style furnishings throughout the space. “I like things clean, white, and fluffy. I knew I wanted a neutral palette,” Allison said. Guests sat at round tables in brown chiavari chairs with glass vase centerpieces filled with carnations, hydrangeas, Queen Anne’s lace, and gold accents. The reception also featured personalized gold foil napkins “It was amazing to see how all our personalized details came together,” Allison said. The menu reflected the places the couple has lived together, which was created by the maid of honor. The dessert display consisted of homemade cupcakes, pie pops, and an espresso cart. ” We loved sneaking off to have our little moments in the gorgeous structure,” Allison said the wedding day. Amanda and Alex were married at Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn. last summer. The couple first met while attending the University of Northwestern St. Paul. “Throughout the next couple months, we got to know each other and he asked me to be his girlfriend – in the parking lot of Walmart!” Amanda said. “A year later, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.” The bride wore a lace sweetheart fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a pair of silver crystal studded platform pumps, while the groom wore a dark gray suit, accessorized with a white tie. Bridesmaids wore short pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of garden roses and dusty millers, but groomsmen wore light gray suits, accessorized with pink ties. “It drizzled a little bit in the morning into early afternoon,” she said. “I had always hoped it would rain in the morning of my wedding day.” Guests were greeted with a welcome table filled with motif ceremony programs and a chalkboard sign that encouraged them to hashtag their photos with #moewedding. The backdrop for the ceremony? A wooden cross. The newlyweds walked back down the aisle as husband and wife to “Something Beautiful” by NEEDTOBREATHE, and we’re off to the reception decorated with vintage vases and vessels centerpieces atop wooden slices. Plus, for entertainment, there was a photo booth! See the full board here.
