Project Wedding Blog

Wendy and Michael are both lawyers, living in London.  After getting engaged in his parent’s garden in New Jersey, they knew that there was a challenge ahead of them. While living abroad and with family on opposite coasts,  they wondered how in the world they would plan a wedding that reflected them as a couple!   On a visit to to the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California, the Rose Garden reminded them of their strolls through Hyde Park together while the East Room had an East Coast/European feel to it.  It couldn’t have been more fitting! The couple booked Ashley from Agape Planning and Lin & Jirsa and a day of old world elegance ensued… Wendy was thrilled to have her closest family in tow to help select her Judd Waddell gown from Erin Cole.  The satin fabric and classic beading reminded them of her grandmother’s dress.  The couple loved every bit of the planning process: the tastings, the breaks from the chilly London weather, taking engagement photos in Laguna Beach (complete with photos in the red London phone booth in Laguna Village), and bonding with their loved ones and amazing vendors.  The rose garden looked absolutely idyllic.  They were married under a breathtaking chuppah adorned with roses and crystals; Inviting Occasion couldn’t have designed more perfect florals in the sapphire, violet, and dusty rose palette.  After a cocktail hour of sushi and libations,  the celebration moved into the East Room, which was transformed with candelabras, awe-inspiring centerpieces, mood lighting and flowers galore.
