Linda and Mike were married at St. Vincent de Paul Church, followed by a reception at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Chicago, Ill. on May 24. The bride looked flawless in a ruffled mermaid gown with a ruched bodice and a soft wavy ‘do. She carried a clean bouquet of white peonies and her ‘maids donned blush strapless chiffon gowns. They carried bouquets featuring  ivory roses, hypericum berries, dusty miller, and eucalyptus. The groom and his men donned classic black tuxedos. The couple’s love for the city of Chicago was their wedding day inspiration. “We both love Chicago so much…so we wanted it to be a very romantic Chicago theme. We let the traditional and classic colors, feel do all the work,” Linda explained. The pair exchanged vows in front of 200 family members and friends in a traditional ceremony. Afterwards, cocktail hour followed on the terrace at the Hyatt Regency. The couple then made a grand entrance into the ballroom where they were presented as husband and wife, right as the curtains rose up and the city lights flooded in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Their welcome table featured family wedding photos, a small wooden box for letters and cards, and mercury glass votive candles. Guests sat at round tables with white linens and gold chiavari chairs. Each table featured a tall green and white floral centerpiece and Chicago-themed table numbers, which were named for iconic city spots. The guests enjoyed the dinner and the band, and ended the night indulging in a classic buttercream cake with a sparkly monogrammed topper. Linda advises couples to prepare for the unexpected, but not to let it worry you. “Don’t stress beforehand about every detail that can go wrong. Something will go wrong,” she said. “And you won’t notice it. Remember the day is about you and your groom and that is all that matters.” See the full board here.
