Laura and Edward were married at Flower Works followed by a reception at Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette, Mich. this past winter. “During the winter in Marquette, Michigan, there is usually a lot of snow,” Laura said. “”With that comes two things, dark grey skies and bright white snow. The contrast of the white snow against the dark grey sky looked so elegant to me that it jump started my winter wedding plans.” The bride wore a beaded lace sweetheart neckline wedding gown from Demetrios’ Ultra Sophisticates collection, accessorized with a white flower hairpiece and a classic veil, which was clipped to her updo. The groom wore a classic tuxedo adorned with a black bow tie and boutonniere. The bridesmaids wore pink dresses with white cardigans and held pink peony bouquets. The groomsmen wore gray suits with skinny black ties. Following the ceremony, guests sat at round tables with candles and wooden slab centerpieces, tying in the rustic theme present throughout. “I grew up in a farming town in northern Indiana,” she said. “I wanted to incorporate some of that rustic charm I had come to love growing up by the farms. I tried to bring this rustic charm in with a sort of unintentional elegance that I think we often see with the frost, snow and ice of winter.” The bride and groom cut the pie, instead of the cake, and enjoyed dancing the night away. Their guests sent them off with sparklers while they went home with a warm cup of hot cocoa! See the full board here.

Jacqueline and Stephen were married at Washington University’s Catholic Student Center in St. Louis, Mo. The bride wore a ball gown with crystal embroidery and floral detailing and silver peep-toe pumps. Standing next to her were her bridesmaids wearing an an array of gray dresses in different fabrics. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds posed in front of city landmarks for portraits. Guests from A-J were escorted to their seats from a vintage window, pink and white ranunculus centerpieces sat atop chevron table linens, and graphic table numbers. The menu included Italian and Southern barbecue, and the signature cocktail was “just peachy.” A combination of vodka, peach liqueur, lemonade, and cranberry juice. The best part? Dessert, which was mini gooey butter cakes! See the full board here.

Sara + Daniel: A Ravishing Indian-Jewish Fusion Wedding by Nadia D. Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Fusion weddings have a special place in our hearts… The blending of two heritages always make for a unique and personal event and it’s so refreshing to revel in the color and creativity incorporated into the day. Sara is Indian American and Daniel is Jewish American, so the evening began with a traditional Jewish ceremony beneath a gorgeous chuppah: all parents joined the couple under the canopy, and the ketubah design evoked a feeling of Indian artwork. Nadia D. photographed every last detail of the dramatic event at Atlanta’s InterContinental Buckhead Hotel and we’re excited to share the bold and captivating imagery.

In a unique twist, Daniel’s niece and nephew sang the kiddush and motzi blessings before dinner in the magically transformed ballroom, replete with flowers in shades of pink, red and purple by Edge Design, and oversized, beaded lampshade centerpieces. But the highlight of the room had to be the white starlit dance floor – the LED lights embedded in the floor twinkled like stars. The most memorable moment of the evening: when Daniel performed a rap song titled “Fly Together” that he had written for Sara, describing their courtship, including their engagement at Lake Rabun, and declaring his undying love for her!
