With Valentine’s day just about a week away, we’re indulging in the pink hues and romantic styling of Jenna and Jeff’s wedding at The Los Angeles Country Club.  The day was feminine, lovely, a snapshot of classic elegance. Hustle & Bustle Events coordinated everything to perfection; Michael Segal documented all of the special moments and exquisite little details.

Jenna looked positively gorgeous in a fit and flare Alencon lace and silk gown, while the bridesmaids were fresh and pretty in pink chiffon frocks. The ceremony took place just outside of the clubhouse, with sweeping views of Bel Aire and downtown Los Angeles.  Chairs were embellished with fabric streamers, which blew gently in the breeze.  Jenna and Jeff took their vows encircled by rose petals, which were well-suited for tossing and celebrating after they said ‘I do.’Back in the clubhouse, lace tablecoths, pink hues, and garden flowers adorned the reception.  Guests were served signature drinks and enjoyed a dreamy summer Los Angeles evening…

For us, there’s just nothing quite like the way Braedon Flynn documents weddings… We could gush about the perfect mood lighting, the way this couple’s sweet connection pours thru the photos, the rich colors, and timeless grain of film photographs… but then again we’d just rather have you enjoy Jane and Mark’s wedding for yourself!  This week’s Real Wedding of the Week is a classic-luxe wedding at The Pacific Club… Jane and Mark married at St. John Vianney Chapel, just five minutes from their home!  The chapel featured a long aisle, beautiful exposed beams, and stained glass windows; perfect for portraits.  It was a sunny day in October, during a southern California heat wave. Guests flew in from all over the country to attend. Their luxurious, classically styled wedding featured a day-into night palette.  The ceremony was accented by greys and pale pinks; while the reception incorporated deeper, richer hues.  Betti Bliss of Bliss Fine Florals designed the gorgeous arrangements; Heather Hamm styled and coordinated the event.

Laurel and Adam’s destination wedding in Carillon Beach, Florida had all the trappings of a shabby chic, East coast party… and we’re just marveling at all the details…  The couple chose a palette of red, pink, and green that displayed beautifully against the blue backdrop of the ocean town buildings.  A special thanks to Kay Meyer Photography for sharing their lovely day with us!After the fresh, daylight ceremony, Laurel and Adam cozied up on the beach for portraits. The groom’s cake was a work of confectionary art…  while the wedding cake was pretty in oh-so-shabby lace.  For favors, the guests were sent home with adorable S’more packets!

But the dearest part was, of course, family.

These photos are so fresh and very sweet…

(Just love that Paper Antler).

Jen and Charlie married at Quivey’s Grove in Madison, Wisconsin; it was a rustic, homespun fall wedding.

The couple met in Thailand while he was learning to become a scuba diving instructor and she was teaching English.  Charlie is from the Southwest of England and Jen is from Wisconsin. After having enough of the tropical heat, they moved to New Zealand where Charlie proposed!

The bridesmaids looked pretty in mix and match turquoise dresses by J. Crew and Jen was completely lovely in a dress by David’s Bridal.   Furnished with dark wood chairs, exposed beams, and rustic lighting, the ceremony took place in the stable at Quivey’s Grove.  Connie Engmann officiated.

They spent hours and hours making all of the decorations for the wedding. Jen and her mom crocheted and sewed all of the bunting used behind the alter and for the reception. Charlie painted and sewed all of the buttons for the table numbers (Jen felt like the luckiest bride)!

For dessert, there was a spread of pies from Hubbard Street Diner in Middleton.  There were ten in all: fall classics like pumpkin, apple and pecan and then some of their favorites - French silk, peanut butter silk, and black forest- YUM! A friend of the bride made a small cake for cutting. There’s more from the bride, just below!

From the Bride: I was never one of those girls that knew what sort of wedding she wanted from a young age, but when we started planning the wedding we quickly decided we wanted a wedding that reflected us as a couple, so we wanted something rustic, crafty, colorful and intimate. Since we were living in New Zealand and weren’t able to look at very many venues, we chose somewhere we were familiar with. Once we had decided on Quivey’s Grove- so many things fell into place. The venue was beautiful - dark wood, a charming old home and very eclectic décor. - - I love food, all kinds of food, but it was really important that we sourced everything for our wedding as locally and sustainably as possible (food, flowers, services) and supported small businesses.

We didn’t have any particular color scheme - I love color, all colors and so we tried to incorporate lots of colors - especially into the table decorations. Even though we had a fall wedding we wanted to stay
away from typical fall colors - red, orange, browns… For the ceremony we used mainly white and pinks and all colors for the rest.

The weather wasn’t perfect - it sprinkled on and off during the day, but I don’t think anyone noticed - and in the evening we had a lightening storm, which I think everyone enjoyed. We had originally planned a late summer wedding - but we pushed the wedding back and decided to have an indoor wedding and I’m glad we did - I would have been worrying about the weather for weeks before the day.

There is such a lightness to this day…  The bride, Kimmee, looked perfectly angelic…and Kevin, her beloved,  seems like one of those dashingly romantic types.   We love how they paired vintage style and Southern charm in a garden setting… sheer loveliness. Belle of the Ball Designs created a romantic pink and warm peach palette of overflowing florals… Kimberlee Miller captured the abundance of beauty in the California sunlight.

That kiss… swoon!

The entire day was hosted at the Maravilla Gardens, a gorgeous venue just north of Los Angeles. For the reception, guest’s names were tucked neatly into horizontal stacks of vintage books, while colorful, Southern-style florals could be found on every table.

If you want to talk vintage, this truly vintage cake-topper adorned the top of the cake, with a heart shaped archway and all!

Angelica and Ben’s wedding is one of those that is so uniquely and genuinely a reflection of the bride and groom… When you get right down to it, that’s what every couple wants in their wedding day. Although, this kind of of imbued personalization comes from a lot of time, attention, and energy on behalf of the couple.  Angelica and Ben did just that… countless hours were spent on the decorations, the dress.. it was a day of love-filled planning and Something Pretty.
The invitations were made from custom watercolor portraits by etsy vendor, Caitlin Shearer.  Below, Angelica’s feminine, basque-waisted dress… made by the bride!!!

Pink and metallic fringe adorned the entryway… all the paper décor was DIY.The bridal party looked ethereal and so feminine in chiffon Bari Jay frocks and floral wreaths.  The ceremony took place outdoors, on a lush, wide open piece of land in Virginia.  Angelica and Ben wed in front of a tipi, handmade by the bride’s sisters!Angelica had her colorful ukelele on hand to play a song during the ceremony;  dozens of glass vases held single flowers showing their faces to the sun.

A love story for you:

Ana Luísa is from Portugal, Paolo from Italy…

An international romance, you see… and we hear that they are positively made for each other.
The couple wed in Portugal, and hired the photography and event design duo, Branco Prata, to capture their day.  The couple incorporated some traditions from each heritage, but the simplicity of it all was truly heavenly. Branco Prata created a modern look; the day was accented by shades of pink and blue.  Ana Luísa wore an ethereal chiffon gown by Paula Rola.   This blue and white floral graphic made its way onto several of the design elements. The ceremony site was majestic and awe-inspiring.  Below, the bride and groom snuggle up for portraits. Branco Prata created cute little plant favors for local guests, and adorable seed boxes for those who travelled from afar.

Emily and Ricardo met on New Year’s Eve of 2006.   She, a California native, and he, born and raised in Brazil, met, fell in love, and were married four and a half years later.   We’re delighting in the vibrant florals and sweet photographs from their big day at the San Diego Botanical Garden.
The bridesmaids wore sage green frocks; Emily looked classic in a semi-sweetheart strapless gown.  The entire bridal party carried abundant blooms designed by Magnolia Flower Shoppe.The San Diego Botanic Garden is an ultra-scenic California locale.  Emily and Ricardo married in the ‘walled garden,’ hosted a cocktail hour in the herb garden, and held the reception on the gazebo lawn. Anjuli Paschall captured the vibrant colors and sweet, tender moments of the day.

Kristin and John’s Austin wedding was chock-full of charm and inspiration…  We’re so delighted to share their day with you!  The noontime ceremony and brunch reception were photographed by our favorite Austin-based photography duo, The Nichols.  The couple wed at the Barr Mansion, an exquisite organic event venue on acres of lush green property.  Kristin looked fresh and stunning in a Paloma Blanca ballgown, while the bridesmaids wore violet dresses by J. Crew.  All carried beautiful pink peony bouquets…  We love the way their berry and violet-hued wedding emblem design tied together the color palette and gave that hint of Southern charm. 

A warm rainbow of ranunculus gave life to the reception tables inside the Artisan Ballroom, a rustic building with floor to ceiling windows.  Guests were treated to a classic cake, a strawberry torte, and mini herb garden favors.   A sweet congratulations to Kristin and John!  You can see more from their wedding in our gallery!

Here’s a little vintage romance for your Tuesday…♥

Elise and Joe’s wedding day was one filled with lace vintage dresses, bow ties, pearls, baby’s breath, shades of pink… and of course, poppies and posies everywhere.  They wed at a Victorian estate in Orange, California. Photography duo Micah & Megan captured a day full of heartfelt emotion.
