Victoria + John: A Sweet Texas Ranch Wedding by Allison Davis Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Uncategorized

Get ready to kick up your boots and stay a while, y’all! Between the sweetly mismatched bridesmaid dresses and super-fun reception space, Victoria and John’s Texas nuptials are seriously worth pouring over. Set on a chilly January day at McKinney’s Rock Creek Ranch, the rustic celebration is a creative, colorful spin on classic country wedding style (love those subtle neon bouquets). Big thanks to Allison Davis for sharing her photos of the day! Be sure to check out the full gallery for even more details.

A Sweet + Chic Soirée by Kurt Boomer Photo
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Diana and J grew up right down the street from one other, went to the same high school and church, and became dear friends before falling in love.  J proposed to Diana at a gallery in New York City; “Will you marry me?” was hanging on an exhibit wall!  From there, they envisioned a big concept on a small budget.  With the Parker Ranch as the scenic canvas,  their talented family and friends helped to create a sweet and chic soirée, a ‘labor of love’ that was worth every ounce of effort!  The ever-talented Kurt Boomer effortlessly captured the luminous pastel palette,  perfectly stylish details,  and the couple’s sweet connection.

Diana had two- count ‘em, two- custom-designed gowns from Tomato Wedding Shop. Having her gowns made was one of her favorite parts of the planning process.  I’m absolutely mad for her gold Sam Edelman shoes (she also had a pair of matching flats)!

After the sun-kissed ceremony, the most charming party followed.  Jane Event Design helped the couple with the flawless execution of their dream reception.  From the ribbon-adorned chairs, to the hand-tinted mason jars, the pastel-topped tables to the s’mores bar,  guests were pampered in sweet loveliness.

Hello, darling… The artfully designed cake by A Cupcake Story featured a thick pastel ribbon and tufts of ivory florals,  fitting the couple’s wedding style to a ‘T.’

If you can believe it, there’s more to see over here!

Sweet wedding wishes to Diana and J and a big thanks to Kurt Boomer for sharing these gorgeous photos…xoxo

Vintage Barn Wedding in California by Oz Visuals
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Wendy and Seth met in 2004, right before they graduated from Cal Poly State University.  They share a deep friendship and an interest in cattle ranching, so a barn wedding it was, after eight years of being together!  They had a fun, easy planning period that led up to a relaxed wedding day- they made it all look so effortless!  This rustic gorgeousness makes us want to just jump on a horse and ride off into the hills…Enjoy their album, captured like a dream by Oz Visuals.

Wendy was the picture of elegance against the the scenic backdrop of ranching country.  She raved about how comfortable she felt in her sophisticated, all-lace Jim Hjelm gown. Don’t the bridesmaids look rather lovely in a rich shade of peacock from David’s Bridal?  That color is just so yummy…  and was a gorgeous contrast to the bouquets of pale beauties, designed by Flowers by Kim.

Wendy and Seth married just outside the barn, then took a stroll for portraits in the countryside, among rolling hills and wild horses.  They utilized a plethora of authentic ranching gear for their reception- the appetizer and buffet table were old doors found around the barn, the gift “table” was an old 1959 Jeep pick-up, and flowers and lights hung in mason jars around the space. The bar was built out of a 100 year old redwood that was saved from when the barn was rebuilt. Wendy and Seth’s laid-back approach and use of the setting made for a day of pure country goodness!

Their approach to the reception was to make it fun for everyone with music, food, a bar, and loved ones… and they didn’t stress about the rest!  The ease of simplicity and effortless elegance shone thru.  All our best to Wendy and Seth ♥

A Something Blue Southern Wedding by Sherry Hammonds Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

The first thing I have to say is that I LOVE how involved both the bride and groom were in designing this wedding.   Jennifer is a wedding planner, so naturally she envisioned the setting and décor.  Kris built the welcome table from Jennifer’s sketch, and since bright blue is Kris’ favorite color, the palette was a combination of sapphire and golden yellow, mixed with natural tones.   Here’s a peek at their album by Austin-based photographer, Sherry Hammonds.Jennifer wore a satin, drop-waisted gown by Winnie Couture with sapphire shoes by Manolo Blahnik.  The maid’s dresses and golden yellow bouquets by Petal Pushers added a dash of bright color to the natural setting.  The flower girls looked sooo precious in poofy tulle skirts!  It was a gorgeous, sunny day in Wimberley, Texas at the Red Corral Ranch.Jenn and Kris married on the labyrinth, a breathtaking piece of the ranch property that is surrounded by trees.  Their pomeranian, Charlie, was the official ring bearer!  Before their charming rustic-style reception on the ranch, the couple posed for portraits against the Texas landscape.  Read the rest of this entry »
