Beth and Jon were married at Mint Springs Farm in Nolensville, Tenn. followed by a reception at Parthenon Grille in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on October 16. The bride stunned in a lace and organza fit-n-flare gown featuring a lace illusion bateau neckline and a crystal belt. She donned her hair in a curly partial updo underneath her waist-length veil. She carried a soft ivory and blush bouquet of roses, hydrangeas, stock, and seeded eucalyptus. Her ‘maids opted for fitted strapless satin dresses in a champagne hue. The groom looked dapper in a dark suit and striped neck tie. “My approach was simple: focus on the day, our surroundings, our beautiful boys, our friends and awesome family,” Beth said of her inspiration. The ceremony decor included rustic wreaths made of grapevine, eucalyptus, waxflower, roses, and ribbon. The pair exchanged vows in a wooden chapel in front of large open windows revealing sweeping views of rolling hills. An intimate reception followed at a nearby restaurant where guests looked to a repurposed window pane to find their seats. Friends and family members sat at tables with white linens and burlap table runners. “I chose simple color schemes and let nature do the rest,” Beth said of the decor. Centerpieces featured hydrangeas in wooden boxes and laser-cut wooden table numbers. Guests were given the choice between steak, chicken, and fish for dinner. They were also given personalized pink and blue koozies as favors. “Rather being tucked away in a corner, I decided we would design the room around the cake..the cake was the focal point sitting in the middle on the room,” Beth said. The three tier white fondant cake was topped with blush and ivory flowers. Beth’s planning advice? “Start by making a list of the things that are most important to you and your fiance.” See the full board here.

Andrea and Brian were married at SaddleRidge Beaver Creek in Avon, Colo. on September 14. “We love the mountains and the surrounding nature was our inspiration,” Andrea said. “We found a venue that evoked the rustic elegance we were looking for and didn’t require much additional decor other than candles and a few flowers. We focused on the natural scenery as our theme and inspiration!” The bride wore a sweetheart a-line wedding gown with lace appliques, accessorized with a pair of sparkly peep-toe platform pumps, while the groom wore a light gray suit, accessorized with a solid tie. Bridesmaids wore long teal chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses wrapped in burlap. Even each groomsmen received sports-themed cufflinks such as the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Flyers. “The infamous Boulder floods caused major delays for guests, who experienced bumper-to-bumper traffic and detours from Denver airport to the mountains,” she said. “A trip that should have taken just two hours, took some people up to eight hours! However, we lucked out with beautiful weather anyways.” Hence, why a chalkboard sign greeted them with, “rain or shine it’s party time.” Nestled in the garden, Brian’s father officiated the ceremony in front of a close-knit of 85. The reception was held inside the resort’s restaurant. Tables were decorated with birch bark centerpieces, mercury glass votive candles, and picture frame numbers. Specialty wines were served from Dave Matthew’s The Dreaming Tree winery too! The newlyweds performed their first dance to “Better Than Love” by Griffith House, and in lieu of a traditional cake, Ukranian bread, called a koroval, was cut. The favors? Bags of assorted nuts. “It was one large party. I wish I could relive the night every year,” Andrea said. See the full board here.

DeYonne + Dorian: A Contemporary Black and Red California Restaurant Wedding By John Schnack Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photo: John Schnack PhotographyVenue: Katsuya by Starck

DeYonne and Dorian were married at Katsuya by Starck in San Diego, Calif. last spring. The bride wore a sweetheart floral applique mermaid wedding gown, accessorized with a blue Christian Louboutins and pear-shaped earrings, while the groom wore a classic black suit, accessorized with a gray bow tie (and glasses!). Bridesmaids stood out in their red peplum dresses, and groomsmen added a pop of color to their vests and pants with yellow bow ties. Following the restaurant ceremony, guests enjoyed “Lovely Lychee” signature cocktails and were escorted to their tables decorated with striped linens, floating candles, and rose and billy ball centerpieces in silver vases. Favor boxes filled with candies were at each place setting, but that didn’t stop anyone from having a bite or two of the cake and cupcakes! See the full board here.

Stephanie + David: A Foodie Summer Canadian Restaurant Wedding By Ten 2 Ten Photography

Stephanie and David first met at work. “I always thought that he was interested in me, but I wasn’t sold on the complications of an office romance,” Stephanie said. “In August 2009, David left the company, and we went on our first date at a Toronto Blue Jays baseball game.” Each year following, they went to a Toronto Blue Jays baseball game to celebrate their anniversary, except for their fourth, they got married at Kingsway-Lambton United Church followed by a reception at Origins. “We wanted a fairly small wedding and had just under 100 guests with us to celebrate,” she said. “During our vows, I accidentally put David’s ring on his right ring finger. Aside from this, the day went off without any problems.” The bride wore a simple sweetheart a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a headband and drop dangling earrings, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a black tie and pocket square. “[The restaurant] was the perfect backdrop to the party, and we were so happy with everyone we interacted with on-staff,” Stephanie said. “Every bite of food was amazing!” Stephanie’s mother arranged all the flowers — bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces– and in lieu of a cake, cupcakes were served all because David proposed with one. How sweet, right? See the full board here.
