* Trend Snippet: The Ball Gown is Back
Posted on February 1st, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Wedding Dress, Wedding Inspiration.
Sigh. There’s something just plain magical about a full, floor-length skirt, right? When it comes to looking like a princess on your wedding day, nothing sets the tone quite like a classic ball gown. Lucky for us, designers answered our fairy tale fantasies this season, sending one dreamy dress after another down the runway.
A few of our favorites:
no. 1 Amsale • no. 2 Romona Keveza • no. 3 Kenneth Pool
no. 4 Austin Scarlett • no. 5 Mark Zunino • no. 6 Maggie Sottero

Does anyone have big dress shopping plans this weekend?

* Day Two: NYC Bridal Market Top Ten {Part One}
Posted on October 18th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.
Day two in New York was chock full of incredible shows… it’s feels impossible to pick just ten of the highlights. Alas, it must be done… my job, sometimes, is incredibly difficult ♥
no. 1 Sheer Beauty + Pleated Tulle
Reem Acra’s presentation was one of my absolute favorites of the weekend. Featuring edgy, embroidered illusion gowns and innovative pleated veils, it was one stunner after another on the runway.
no. 2 Gone Green Couture
This season, Romona Keveza gave going green a whole new meaning. Her couture evening gowns were featured in pastel, lime, and shades of apple and she even pushed the envelope with a fresh mint bridal ballgown!

no. 3 Claire’s Paradise
Oh Claire, how I love you and your gorgeous gowns… For Fall 2013, the celebrated Claire Pettibone unveiled a collection of earthly delights made for the modern goddess. Spending an hour in Claire’s Garden of Eden was, without a doubt, a highlight of the weekend!

no. 4 Reveling in Romantic Luxury at St. Pucchi
Luxe laces, ostrich feather embellishments, and vertical pleating elements had me reveling in romance during my stop at St. Pucchi. Here are three favorites from the new collection by designer Rani Totman.
no. 5 Awe-Inspired at Monique
There was one moment during the entire weekend that absolutely took my breath away… it was in the last minutes of Monique Lhuillier’s fairytale runway show. Over a dozen models lined up in the new gowns…dream dresses of silk, lace and tulle in Monique’s signature feminine style. The collection, the ambiance… everything was pure magic!
Stay Tuned for Part Two…

* Fashion Friday: Sheathy and Chic
Posted on August 10th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.
The classic sheath silhouette made a comeback on the Spring 2013 runways. A great sheath dress reminds me of refined elegance, maturity, and sophistication… Traditional sheaths fit close around the hips and taper toward the hemline, creating a very tailored look. However, a bit of room and flow at the hem is more figure- flattering for a bride with some curves.
Are you thinking of a sheath? One of these just might fit your fancy!
no. 1 Carolina Herrera no.2 Oscar de la Renta no. 3 Monique Lhuillier
no. 4 Elizabeth Fillmore no. 5 Rafael Cennamo no. 6 Amsale
no. 7 Monique Lhuillier no. 8 Theia no. 9 Romona Keveza
no. 10 Temperley London no. 11 Mark Zunino no. 12 Marchesa
no. 13 Theia no. 14 Elizabeth Fillmore no. 15 Sarah Janks
no. 16 Amsale no. 17 Romona Keveza no. 18 Christos
What’s your take? Are you a sheath kind of gal?
Wishing you a lovely little weekend…
xoxo
* Day Two: NYC Bridal Market Top Ten {Part One}
Posted on April 16th, 2012 by Kate. Filed under Wedding Dress.
My second day in New York was chock full of amazing bridal fashion. Here are the highlights from the day!
One. Monique
I mean, really, need I say more? Ok, I will. The collection was, as always, romantic… exuding femininity … In Monique’s words, like a fantasy. Enjoy it for yourself, we’ve posted the the FULL collection here.
Two. Peplums with Panache by Amsale
How fabulous are these peplum-embellished trumpet gowns by Amsale?! Seeing a trend? We think so.
Three. Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 Maids
I can’t decide if I’m more in love with the super springy floral print or the delicate tulle wrapped dresses… both are crazy pretty.
Four. Amazing Laces from Christos
Gorgeous fabrics were a stand-out on the Christos runway.. chantilly and alencon laces… as well as a very unique trellis point d’ espirit, as pictured at left.
Five. Romona Keveza’s Statement Dress
What might be more amazing than this bold red color, is all the pristinely folded origami flowers on the skirt. Genius!
That’s it for now! More to come… xoxo
