Annemarie and Philip were married at St. Mary’s Church in Quincy, Mass. followed by a reception at Atlantica in Cohasset, Mass. on October 25. Annemarie looked fabulous in a satin strapless A-line gown with her hair donned in an updo and accented with a braided headband. She accessorized with a three-strand pearl necklace and carried a bouquet of coral-orange dahlias, blue hydrangeas, ivory roses, orange waxflower, thistle, and brunia berries. Her ‘maids opted for strapless satin floor-length navy blue gowns, while the groom and his men donned gray three-piece suits and matching navy blue neck ties. The pair exchanged vows in a traditional church ceremony in front of 150 family and friends. A reception followed at a venue nestled right on the shoreline. “Phil is a merchant marine and I have an infatuation with all things nautical. We naturally went with a nautical theme,” Annemarie said of their wedding inspiration. The reception featured items such as a nautical card box and a wooden sign displaying an anchor motif and the couple’s wedding date and last name. Guests sat at tables with white linens, and featured little blue boats complete with arrangements of gerber daisies, waxflower, and hydrangeas. “The flowers, centerpieces and boutonnieres were hands down my favorite wedding accent,” Annemarie said. Friends and family enjoyed dinner as well as a three-tier white fondant cake with navy blue ribbon accents and a monogram. Annemarie recommends couples try to keep a cool head while planning. “Planning gets chaotic, things go wrong, but you still get to spend forever with your husband, what is better than that?”  See the full board here.

Christina and Anthony were married at Portland Company Complex in Portland, Maine on June 2. The bride looked lovely in a lace gown featuring an illusion lace neckline and short sleeves. She wore her hair in a low chignon and carried a bright summer bouquet of peonies, poppies, garden roses, and greenery. The groom looked dapper in a gray three-piece suit complete with a light neck tie and a pocket watch. The couple tied the knot seaside under a hand-knit chuppah. After they exchanged vows, guests walked about five minutes to the reception space which was an industrial style space featuring wooden floors, a brick wall, and exposed beams. “Guests were then invited to get all aboard the train for a fun little ride around while they all mingled and drank old fashioneds and lemonades before being dropped back at the reception,” said Jessica of A Brit & A Blonde. Friends and family members also enjoyed local Maine and New England beers during cocktail hour. Guests sat at long banquet tables complete with chevron table runners in crossback chairs. The tables were lined with glass bud vases with snapdragon and tulip arrangements in them.  “Anthony & Christina are true blue wedding DIYers,” Jessica said. “Almost every single detail and décor item was done by them or one of their family or friends.” In lieu of tangible wedding favors, a donation was made to Uncommon Schools. The menu included spring radish slivers, whole grilled arctic char stuffed with fennel and herbs, and quinoa salad with pickled rhubarb. For dessert, guests enjoy a single-tier buttercream cake adorned with a flower, as well as a tower of Whoopie pies! See the full board here.

Jennifer and Matthew were married at the DeBordieu Club in Georgetown, S.C. on October 25. Jennifer looked flawless in an A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and a bejeweled sash. She donned her hair in an updo and carried a bouquet of white and blue-tipped hydrangeas wrapped in navy blue satin. Her ‘maids opted for navy blue floor-length chiffon gowns. The groom looked dapper in a tan suit with a blue neck tie. His men looked handsome in more casual attire, tan vested suits. “We were married on a perfect South Carolina fall day,” Jennifer said of the weather. “There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and it was a perfect 70 with a cool ocean breeze.” The pair exchanged vows in on the courtyard of the DeBordieu Club in front of 100 friends and family members. Guests sat in white folding chairs constructed in a semi-circle arrangement. A cocktail hour followed on the club’s porch, right around sunset. A reception followed inside with white linen covered-tables that featured ivory hydrangea arrangements in porcelain vases wrapped in burlap and blue twine. “We didn’t go overboard and our family had fun,” Jennifer said. After dining and dancing the night away, guests indulged in a five-tier white cake adorned with blue and green hydrangeas. “Don’t try to compete, show off or feel you have to go all out,” Jennifer said. What sound advice! See the full board here.

Shana and Ben were married at El Capitan Canyon in Goleta, Calif. on April 12. Shana looked stunning in a strapless lace gown with her hair down and curled. She donned an herb and flower crown and a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of burgundy dahlias and peonies, red roses, dark pink cascading amaranthus, white anemones, succulents, and greenery. The groom looked handsome in a charcoal gray suit and a pale green neck tie. He also accessorized with a boutonniere of succulent, waxflower, dahlia, and scabiosa pods. The couple tied the knot overlooking the Pacific Ocean. They were married by a close friend under a wooden chuppah adorned with greenery and they exchanged handwritten vows. “We wanted a wedding venue that would reflect our love for California terrain,” Shana explained. “Getting married over the Pacific Ocean was a shared dream for us.” The 100 guests tossed flower petals at the newly married couple as they recessed down the aisle. Guests enjoyed beer and wine at the reception, which was denoted on a painted chalkboard. Family and friends looked to a window seating chart to find their seats. They sat at long wooden tables with burlap runners and floral centerpeices. “The flow of the whole day was intentional but lighthearted, joyful, and celebratory,” Shana said. Guests received candles as a favor. After dinner a dance party followed as well as a late-night fire for everyone to enjoy. Shana recommends that brides stick to what they want during wedding planning. “Let your wedding be a reflection of you and your fiance and try to stay true to your vision. You can’t make everyone happy!” See the full board here.
