Before you head out to celebrate the extra-long Fourth of July weekend in whichever way you choose (hello, BBQ’s and bonfires!), we thought it was only right to throwback to one of our favorite Americana-inspired weddings of all time. We owe this gorgeous dose of red, white, and blue to Julie and Pete, who were married at a private residence along the shores of Marblehead, Mass. Want even more patriotic pretty? Check out these boards and ideas:

Julie + Pete: A Preppy Patriotic Massachusetts Private Estate Wedding By Shannon Cronin Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: Shannon Cronin Photography

Julie and Pete first met on Fourth of July weekend, so of course their wedding had patriotic spirit! But with a nautical twist. “The ocean and boating are a huge part of our lives and something we share a love for,” Julie said. “It was only fitting that since we met on the water, we get married there as well.” The bride and bridesmaids got ready wearing monogrammed button-down shirts, which were also gifts. Julie looked lovely in her lace Allure wedding gown with a keyhole back while her bridesmaids looked neutral in their J.Crew dresses. Pops of bright colors were added into the bouquets and Julie’s pink peep-toe bow tie pumps. As the newlyweds exited the church, guests waved American flags, and the bridal party piled into a boat for a ride before the reception. Anchors were seen throughout decor — on napkins, place cards, and koozies. Since both Julie and Pete are Boston College alumnus, the marching band surprised guests with a performance at the end of the night. See the full board here.
