Briana and Dan were married at State Park Lodge in Custer, S.D. on May 31. “Neither Dan nor I were ever picky about decorations or the look we were hoping to capture,” Briana said. “We wanted everything about the day to focus on our commitment and love for God.” The bride wore a lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with an illusion neckline, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls and a pair of “something blue” wedges, while the groom wore a light gray three-piece suit, accessorized with a solid white tie. Bridesmaids wore short gray taffeta dresses in various necklines and carried bouquets of calla lilies. “We had a dark, rainy day before the wedding and another dark rainy day after the wedding,” she said. “But as my groom promised for months, our day was 70 and sunny.” Guests were greeted with a chalkboard sign, which served double duty as the the program. During the ceremony, the couple performed a foot washing. A towel was customized with “And the two shall become one.” The newlyweds’ best advice? “Enjoy your months of hard work and celebrate what you have created together with your love,” she said. “If you are anxious or worried, everyone around you will be as well. Take a deep breathe, relax, and others around you will pick up on your calmness too.” Dinner and dancing was held underneath a pavilion. “Although the lace and pearls were beautiful, they were the perfect balance of casual and romantic, allowing nature to the the main decoration,” Briana said. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces, and nephews got first priority seating. “We chose an acoustic version of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Lego,'” she said. See the full board here.
