In the midst of summer, I’m going thru a little season envy right now… (Ya know, I start to think about my winter wardrobe and how nice it would be to pull out sweater.. in the middle of winter I miss all my summer dresses).  I decided to cure that by featuring this rustic, intimate winter cabin wedding!  Alison and Andrew held their DIY-style day in the small patch of rural bliss called Smithers, British Columbia.  Enjoy the sweet and simple styling! Sometimes simple is really just so beautiful.  When I received these photos from Jessica and Jordan’s outdoor wedding in Tuscany, I fell in love with the Italian countryside… the olive branches… the simple sunflower florals…the very happy couple… and the sweet simplicity of their day.  The wedding was planned by Weddings in Tuscany and photographed by Lisa Poggi.  The couple’s interfaith ceremony was followed by an reception overlooking the stunning landscape.  Oh, to wed at an Italian villa…

Our dear friends over at Paper Antler sent over this sweet, sweet Tennessee wedding the other day.  We are totally in awe of Karis and Stephen’s unique meeting and we can’t get enough of the beautiful and natural simplicity of their oh-so-happy day!   Read more down below:

Karis is one of seven children, and grew up in Ireland.  Stephen, who is one of three children, grew up in Chicago but has been living in Nairobi, Kenya for the past four years.  Karis + Stephen were introduced through a mutual friend in Kenya, and after dating long distance (very long distance) for the majority of their relationship, and after a proposal atop the summit of Mt. Kenya, they wed in Chattanooga, TN, surrounded by friends and family from all over the world.  Their reception took place at a quaint bed and breakfast, and featured some serious dancing, lawn games, and fireworks across the pond, which were a surprise from Karis to Stephen.

Karis + Stephen exhibit a joy and a love that is contagious.  Their smiles light up a room and it was rare to see either one of them not on the brink of laughter.  We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of their day and we wish them all the best as they continue their journey back to Nairobi, Kenya!

I am just adoring the sweetness of this pretty purple wedding… This was sent over by Melissa Hayes.  The way the couple planned the day is very refreshing, and reminds me of the phrase ‘simple abundance.’  So perfect.

Some unique details of the day included simple floral and paper confetti centerpieces and measuring spoon favors!
