* Lana + Andrew: A Sunny Florida Alfred Angelo Wedding

Posted on April 18th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings.

Today we’re sharing a second installment of our fun collaboration with Alfred Angelo. Each month, one of their stylish real brides is featured as their ‘Facebook Cover Girl’, and we’re honored to show off the rest of the lucky gal’s big day! April goes to Lana, who selected a stunning strapless number with a slim ruffled skirt for her Florida nuptials. We love the springy touches of buttercup yellow and sage green she and husband Andrew sprinkled throughout the Bonnet House estate—perfect for an early spring wedding! Big thanks to Emily Harris Photography for the lovely images.

* Fashion Friday: A Greek Goddess Ensemble

Posted on March 15th, 2013 by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Bridal Fashion.

A hot summer wedding on the Mediterranean calls for a strapless neckline and a long, easy-fit skirt, don’t you think? For today’s inspired bridal ensemble, we’re taking our cues straight from Athena, Aphrodite, and the rest of the Greek Goddesses—and we think the look is perfect for a carefree beach bride who still wants to radiate a little elegance. Keep accessories consistent on this one: a bevy of flora-inspired gold jewelry dresses things up, and gladiator sandals in the same tone will keep you standing (and dancing!) long into the night.

Joy and Andrew wed at the La Jolla Women’s Club on a crisp, clear day in September. Between the tea-themed decor, carnation initials, and old-fashioned bicycle send-off, there are so many thoughtful details in their early autumn wedding that we simply don’t know were to begin. Almost every element of the charming backyard ceremony has a story behind it, and we’re beyond delighted to share them with you today. Special thanks to Orange Turtle Photography for sending these buoyant, airy images over!

Andrew and Joy met at a church-sponsored singles retreat in January 2011. They hit it off after being assigned to the same worship group, and stayed in touch via email and Facebook (at the time, he lived in San Diego, and her her home base was the San Francisco Bay area). Not long after, Andrew proposed with a massive pink Post-it “Marry Me” sign meticulously crafted on a Lake Tahoe cabin wall during a family getaway. The romantic gesture became the basis for their wedding palette-—pretty pastel shades of the same color.
