* Susan + Nick: A Coral and Teal Midwest Real Wedding by Jackie Cooper Photo
Posted on May 14th, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
These rediculously cute lovebirds met in the college housing at the University of Kansas. Susan first saw him during ‘game night’ in the halls, then later recognized him amongst hundreds of people in her Intro to Journalism class. Susan says, ‘When the teacher told us to form groups for the semester, I immediately hunted him down, thinking that if I paired up with a neighbor, I wouldn’t have to travel far to work on projects!’ After the class was over, they continued to get together for ‘Journalism Movie Nights,’ which were really just an excuse to hang out. After a year and a half of will-they-won’t-they tension Susan and Nick finally ended up together—and never looked back. Revel in the fresh palette and sweetness of their wedding day with these blissful photographs by Jackie Cooper Photo!
It was an all-out summer celebration; the coral, teal and yellow palette- a fresh nod to the hot day in Kansas. Their ultimate goal was to throw a colorful, bold party; a reunion of sorts for their college friends. The bride wore an ultra-feminine, sweetheart neckline gown by Wtoo, while the maids mixed and matched in teal frocks from the Jim Hjelm Occasions Collection. Bursts of white hydrangea bouquets for the bridesmaids and a coral garden rose bouquet for the bride were the perfect complement!

* Jessica + Matthew: Whimsical Eastern Shore Wedding by Hudson Nichols Photography
Posted on May 7th, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
As the weather warms up, we can’t help but daydream about the most idyllic places on the planet to spend the summer months. You know, coastal spots with harsh winters that become completely alive with gorgeous foliage, visitors, and cool water lapping up on the- for a brief few months- warm sandy shores. Jessica and Matthew’s May wedding transports us to such a spot- Trappe, Maryland, where they married on a sunny day at their family farm. We’re completely taken by the entire event, from their easy-breezy style to the pops of whimsical, vibrant color. And it doesn’t seem that it could have been captured more perfectly than it was in these sunlit photos by Hudson Nichols Photography.

Jessica glowed in an organza Badgley Mischka gown, and had her long curls sideswept in a pretty low-do. Much like the rest of the event, she emanated an effortless beauty. The florals, with pops of color inspired by a desert sunset, were sourced from a local farm. The bride lended her creative touch to many of the day’s details, designing the romantic country wedding of their dreams in a place they both hold dear in their hearts.
* Lindsay + Luke: A Romantic Backyard Barbecue Wedding by Stacey Hedman
Posted on April 23rd, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
This dreamy East coast couple, married in Massachusetts last August in an inspiring al fresco affair. The sun-filled event was held poolside at Lindsay’s family home, and emphasized vibrant summer florals, amazing food, the connection of friends and family, and lots of dancing! With a romantic backyard wedding on their minds, the couple added a barbecue reception element, and when it was all said and done, a casually stylish and charming day ensued. We’re swooning over Lindsay’s laid-back bridal style (gown by J. Crew), the gorgeous organic blooms (by Petal Flower Design), the touch-of-prep East Coast vibe, and Stacey Hedman’s incredible visual depiction of their love story!

Lindsay and Luke met in Boston; she was a ‘wingwoman’ for a friend of hers, and he was a ‘wingman’ for a friend of his. As fate would have it, they were the two to find love! The couple said their vows at the First Parish Church in Concord, then headed into the soft summer sunlight for portraits. The bride’s family home was an idyllic locale for a classy backyard celebration; florals and candles floated in the pool and guests gathered on the porch for a spread of coastal cuisine.
* Brittany + Jason: A Darling Southern Wedding by Annabella Charles Photography
Posted on March 25th, 2013 by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings.
Another day, another springy Tennessee wedding to fall for (we couldn’t stop talking about Heather + Tyler’s Gallatin celebration last week). This Monday though, all eyes are on blushing Southern belle Brittany and the classic Southern ceremony she held with now-husband Jason at her family home in Cordova. Their navy, peach, and ivory nuptials are the perfect expression of preppy romance, especially when set in a lush backyard on a crisp June night. Big thanks to Annabella Charles Photography for sharing the day with us! You can see even more details in the full gallery.
