Kim and Jon envisioned their day to be shabby chic with a rustic barn in the background, lit by market lights.  After dreaming it all up, they discovered Boa Ventura De Caires Winery in Livermore, California, and it was the total package. Complete with an apricot palette and sunflowers for days, the wedding of these high school sweethearts was a summer dream. Many thanks to Heather Elizabeth Photography for sending this over!

This how-we-met is definitely one for the grandkids!  The pair met on the first day of high school: Jon thought Kim was a cute older classman, but she was a freshman too.  Jon wasn’t available at the time, but Kim thought he was a nice looking fellow.  Once Jon became available, she told her mom and found out that their mamas were friends when they were pregnant!  Much to Kim’s surprise, her mother also mentioned that  she was named after Jon’s older sister, Kimberly Kay.   At the time, their moms never thought that there would ever be any coinciding with the names…  That is, until Kim and Jon dated thru high school and college, then moved out to Hawaii together where Jon was stationed in the the military.  He proposed, then made her the new Ms. Kimberly Kay Worswick!  What a story~ Love it!

I have a flair for dramatics… and also for gorgeous things that are truly unique… you know, not the run-of-the-mill… so I was utterly delighted to lay eyes on Robyn and Ben’s beautiful wedding album.  I didn’t realize that sunflowers could be so fresh, warm and entirely exquisite.  Leave it up to J Morgan Flowers to design a stunning array of florals for this May wedding in Fort Lauderdale.  Here’s a peek, but you can see the full spread of photos by Nami Dadlani Photography over here.

Robyn is originally from Fort Lauderdale, and Ben from South Hampton, England. The pair met at a friend’s barbecue on Cinco de Mayo. Ben and a friend competed in a game of pool to determine which lucky fellow would get to talk to Robyn first! After he swept her off her feet with his accent and charm, they married six years to the day after they met.  The ceremony took place under a covered patio at the historic Stranahan House.  One of Robyn’s favorite moments was walking down the aisle with her ten-year-old daughter, Madison, and meeting her husband-to-be. At that moment, she felt as though everything was right in her world.

As day transitioned into evening, the navy and gold color palette deepened and an elegant party ensued.  The cake?  Oh the cake.  Ruffled perfection by Sugarsweet Dreams Cake Company.  I love the whole thing… the monogram, the sugar sunflower…

This Nebraska real wedding comes from photographer, Maggie Rife, and is a true DIY gem!  Molly and Nick celebrated their day with an outdoor reception on a basketball court (complete with a chandelier décor piece hanging from the net)!  The bride DIY’d all the fun details including the fabric wall, lace embellished wine bottle centerpieces, and handmade signs.
