Alex + Tim: A Whimsical Rustic Texas Ranch Wedding By Taylor Lord Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: Taylor Lord Photography

Alex and Tim met while attending Baylor University. “He was the cute guy with the Chicago accent,” Alex said. She wore Bliss by Monique Lhuillier wedding gown with rosette detailing on the skirt and a pair of mint Kate Spade heels whereas Tim wore a checkered button down, blue blazer, khaki pants, and pale pink bow tie. Bridesmaids wore different colored dresses from white, ivory, tan, and taupe. “We knew we wanted to create an atmosphere that felt more like a family reunion that a formal affair,” she said. “We decided that we wanted our decor to include a combination of rustic and whimsical elements. I love bold pops of color in unexpected places, so the backdrop of the ranch was perfect when mixed with bright florals, modern linens, and creative chalkboard art.” A wine barrel table welcomed guests with the couple’s guestbook and ceremony fan programs. Crepe paper streamers served as the altar. Macarons with “Yay!” paper flags were at each place setting, but their favorite foodie? A homemade biscuit bar with all the toppings like jam, butter, and honey! See the full board here.

Need inspiration for a spring wedding? A few of our editors share their favorites below:

From the Stationery Editor – Ask each guest to leave their fingerprint on a framed drawing of a family tree. Check out more guestbooks here.

From the Fashion Editor –  Accessorize your lace wedding gown with a statement necklace and pair of romantic, petal peep-toe platform sandals. Ask each bridesmaid to wear a different shade of pastel: blush, sage, lavender, or creamsicle.

From the Flowers Editor – Bouquets of peonies, ranunculuses, sweat peas, delphiniums, orchids, and tulips are a must-have. Check out these spring centerpieces we love.

From the Cakes Editor –  Place a garden-inspired cake topper on top of your wedding cake. Examples: birds, bird’s nest, robin’s eggs, birdcage, etc. Check out more cake toppers here.

From the Favors Editor – Send each guest home with a bag of seeds to plant and watch love grow or follow these DIY steps to make your own seed bomb favors.
