Sara and Kevin were married at the Hummingbird House in Austin, Texas on June 21. The bride looked radiant in a lace, A-line gown with an illusion lace back and cap sleeves. Sara amped up her bridal look with a sparkly crystal belt and wore her hair in an intricate updo. She carried a clean bouquet of white peonies tied together with a white satin ribbon. Her ‘maids donned magenta chiffon dresses with ruched bodices. They carried bouquets featuring peonies, roses, and stock that were tied together with a purple satin ribbon. The groomed looked dapper in a light purple button down, plaid tie, and charcoal suit vest. His men sported light gray vested suits with purple ties. Sara and Kevin tied the knot in an intimate garden setting in front of 70 family members and friends, and even arranged for a saxophone quartet to play jazz music before the ceremony. “We knew we wanted to get married in a beautiful setting that would be serene and sacred,” Sara explained. They exchanged vows in front of an iron arbour adorned with orchids and a crystal chandelier. The aisle was strewn with white flower petals and guests sat in white folding chairs. Following the ceremony, a tented reception was held at the same location. In lieu of a classic guest book, guests were asked to sign paper hearts which they placed in a shadow box. Each table featured mirrored trays, ivory flowers, and wooden table numbers. Sara and Kevin sat at a sweetheart table featuring chair signs that read “Bride and Groom.” When it came to food, variety was the main priority. “Kevin and I love cooking and eating healthy,” Sara said. “We have a lot of Vegan friends and went out of our way to make sure everyone had plenty of options.” For dessert, guests chose between lemon, red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla cake. They even offered vegan cupcakes for those who couldn’t indulge in cake! As favors, guests received personalized olive oil and vinegar. The bride and groom even choreographed their first dance! “Our night was magical and romantic and we are so grateful that we both showed up to that bowling alley four years ago,” Sara said of her big day. Allie and Will were married at Hodge Podge Lodge in Montgomery, Texas on April 12. The bride looked gorgeous in a strapless lace fit ‘n flare gown. She wore her hair in a detailed updo and accessorized with a feather. She carried a romantic bouquet of roses, dusty miller, and hypericum berries. Her ‘maids were outfitted in peach pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and greenery. The men sported khaki suits and pink neck ties, with the groom standing out from the pack in a striped tie. Allie took the venue into account while planning her wedding. “The venue was called Hodge Podge Lodge so we wanted to go with the hodge podge theme,” she said.  The couple exchanged vows outside under ivory draping and an elegant chandelier as guests looked on in wooden folding chairs marked with baby’s breath. The ceremony featured a unity candle ceremony, honoring the union of their two families. After they sealed the deal with a kiss, guests enjoyed lawn games like cornhole and croquet. Guests were asked to sign a patch for a quilt that would be put together in the future. The centerpieces at each of the round tables were discovered by the bride’s mother at antique shops. Family and friends were given pink personalized koozies and flavored popcorn bags as favors. “I think all our guests really enjoyed the wedding and some even described it as the most personal wedding they had been to,” Allie said. Guests indulged in white ruffle cakes as well as an LSU groom’s cake for dessert. Overall, Allie was very pleased with the way the wedding turned out. “I think our wedding was a good representation of my husband and me.” See the full board here.

Logan and Percy were married at Paniolo Ranch in Boerne, Texas on November 9. The bride looked gorgeous in her fit ‘n flare sweetheart lace gown, topped off with an intricate updo and a birdcage veil. She carried a bouquet of lavender roses, green hydrangea, and calla lilies, paired with fiddlehead fern curls. Her ‘maids donned short deep purple dresses, a perfect fit for Fall. The groom and his groomsmen looked dapper in matching gray suits. Framed photos of the couple and family members, along with ceremony programs, were displayed on a wooden table near the ceremony location. Logan and Percy were married outside at dusk under a giant tree with gorgeous hanging lights giving off a very romantic aesthetic. “The weather was perfect,” Logan gushed. “It was nice and cool with the smallest breeze. Absolutely perfect weather for a wedding. I could hear the strings playing, I was so anxious to get down that aisle!” Afterwards, guests dined at round tables with deep purple accents, and sat in chivari chairs. Each table featured a centerpiece filled with green and purple blossoms and curly branches. Guests danced and socialized on the outdoor patio, which was all lit up with string lights. The five-tiered cake was a green hue and was adorned with cascading purple flowers. The happy couple was sent off into married life with sparklers from their guests. Logan’s wish for engaged couples? “RELAX! Its your special day, don’t stress. Get things done early enough rather than last minute,” she said. See the full board here.

Leah + Eric: A Modern Black-Tie Texas Rooftop Wedding By Hilary Grace Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Photos: Hilary Grace PhotographyEvent Planner: AK Event DesignCeremony Venue: First Presbyterian Church of DallasReception Venue: The Venue at 400 North ErvayFloral Designer: Bonney Blooms

Leah and Eric were married in a traditional church ceremony at First Presbyterian followed by a reception at The Venue at 400 North Ervay in Dallas, Texas on March 22. The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown with all-over embroidered beading, accessorized with a fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a solid bow tie and pocket square. Bridesmaids wore a combination of short and long green chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of peonies, hydrangeas, and anemones. What could be cooler than cocktail hour on a rooftop deck in the heart of downtown? Guests enjoyed getting cozy on contemporary couches, accented with yellow and gray patterned decorative pillows and lit with geometric chandeliers. Since they both are wine distributors, it only made sense to subtly wove that theme into the decor. For example, escort cards were displayed on initialed corks, centerpieces were filled in wooden crates, and numbers were printed on bottles. In lieu of a guest book, well wishes were written on a selection of reds and whites for the newlyweds to open on future anniversaries. A three-tiered textured fondant and buttercream-frosted cake was served after dinner and in between dancing, but there was also a surprise! A mini chocolate cake for Eric. See the full board here.
