Leah + Eric: A Modern Black-Tie Texas Rooftop Wedding By Hilary Grace Photography

Leah and Eric were married in a traditional church ceremony at First Presbyterian followed by a reception at The Venue at 400 North Ervay in Dallas, Texas on March 22. The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown with all-over embroidered beading, accessorized with a fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a solid bow tie and pocket square. Bridesmaids wore a combination of short and long green chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of peonies, hydrangeas, and anemones. What could be cooler than cocktail hour on a rooftop deck in the heart of downtown? Guests enjoyed getting cozy on contemporary couches, accented with yellow and gray patterned decorative pillows and lit with geometric chandeliers. Since they both are wine distributors, it only made sense to subtly wove that theme into the decor. For example, escort cards were displayed on initialed corks, centerpieces were filled in wooden crates, and numbers were printed on bottles. In lieu of a guest book, well wishes were written on a selection of reds and whites for the newlyweds to open on future anniversaries. A three-tiered textured fondant and buttercream-frosted cake was served after dinner and in between dancing, but there was also a surprise! A mini chocolate cake for Eric. See the full board here.

Jessica + Ruben: A Rustic Pastel Spring California Texas Ranch Wedding By Anna Smith Photography

Jessica and Ruben were married at Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas on April 20. ”When we visited Vista West Ranch, it was the perfect one-stop-shop venue which captured the rolling hill country, and offered intimate overnight accommodations for our guests,” Jessica said. “Plus, what better place than a ranch to get married in Texas?” The bride wore a strapless ball gown with a ruffled skirt, accessorized with a floor-length veil and jeweled sash, while the groom wore a dark gray three-piece suit, accessorized with a solid tie. “At the time of the wedding, I was living in California,” she said. “I carried-on my wedding dress with me on the plane – in a big pink gown bag, and my petticoat enclosed! I was worried about TSA, but instead was greeted with plenty of friendly faces and well-wishes!” Surprisingly, there were no bridesmaids and groomsmen. “We didn’t have a bridal party, we wanted it to be truly our day,” Jessica said. “It ended up being much less stress than having to coordinate suits and bridesmaids dresses!” The ceremony took place underneath an altar decorated with baby’s breath with Jessica’s brother-in-law officiating. “I wanted a rustic  wedding, and had envisioned a big fun gathering of close family and friends,” Jessica said. “I wanted people to feel comfortable and at-home.” The reception was held inside the barn. Tables were decorated with burlap runners, wooden drawer centerpieces, mason jars, and votive candles. Grapevine balls hung from the ceiling too! Dinner and dancing began with traditional Southern fare, and the newlyweds performing “So Far Gone” by Thousand Foot Crutch. Remember to “let go of the details and roll with the surprises that will come up on the big day!,” she said. At the end of the night, a mini cake was cut and all 50 guests enjoyed a make-your-own sundae bar, complete with every type of topping imaginable. See the full board here.

Leigh + Kyle: A Glamorous Gold Fall Texas Resort Wedding By Caroline + Ben Photography

High school sweethearts Leigh and Kyle were married at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas last fall. The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a floral sash and chapel-length veil in her loose blonde curls, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a striped tie. Bridesmaids wore short dresses in various neutral colors and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, and dusty millers. Due to inclement rainy weather, the ceremony took place inside underneath a gazebo with aisles lined in lanterns. Fun fact: Kyle is a professional baseball player. So, of course, the newlyweds wanted to incorporate this into their reception. Guests were asked to write well wishes on bases. Tables were decorated with sequin linens, tall candelabra centerpieces, and mercury glass candles. In addition to the five-tiered cake, there were also cookies. At the end of the night, it wasn’t sparklers that sent them off to their honeymoon in Fiji it was ___ . Fill in the blank! (Hint: It’s a nod to a sport.) See the full board here.

Courtney + Cory: A Doctor Who Inspired Winter Texas Historic Mansion Wedding By Catie Bartlett Photography

Courtney and Cory were married at Thurman’s Mansion in Driftwood, Texas on March 16. “We knew we wanted a Doctor Who-inspired wedding, but didn’t want to overwhelm guests with our fandom,” Courtney said. Fun fact: It’s a British science-fiction television series. The bride wore a ruffled halter wedding gown, accessorized with a birdcage veil, while the groom wore a gray suit, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched navy blue dresses and carried bouquets of baby’s breath. ”Our wedding day was a beautiful yet cold day,” she said. “The sunshine was great, but the wind was freezing. We were thankful it was sunny though because our rehearsal the day before was drizzle and overcast weather.” Since they both are teachers, of course, they incorporated chalkboards. Guests were greeted to the ceremony with one that said, “Sealed for all time and space.” ”We were worried that our sand ceremony hourglass was going to blow over,” Courtney said. “But our pastor stepped in and made sure everything went off without a hitch.” Dinner and dancing followed with BBQ fare and a 3-dimensional police call box station cake. In lieu of centerpieces and a guest book, picture frames featured quotes and fill-in-the-blank Mad Libs were at each place setting. The newlyweds performed their first dance to “Close Your Eyes” by Michael Buble and exited through a sea of sparklers at the end of the night. See the full board here.
