Sara + Daniel: A Ravishing Indian-Jewish Fusion Wedding by Nadia D. Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Fusion weddings have a special place in our hearts… The blending of two heritages always make for a unique and personal event and it’s so refreshing to revel in the color and creativity incorporated into the day. Sara is Indian American and Daniel is Jewish American, so the evening began with a traditional Jewish ceremony beneath a gorgeous chuppah: all parents joined the couple under the canopy, and the ketubah design evoked a feeling of Indian artwork. Nadia D. photographed every last detail of the dramatic event at Atlanta’s InterContinental Buckhead Hotel and we’re excited to share the bold and captivating imagery.

In a unique twist, Daniel’s niece and nephew sang the kiddush and motzi blessings before dinner in the magically transformed ballroom, replete with flowers in shades of pink, red and purple by Edge Design, and oversized, beaded lampshade centerpieces. But the highlight of the room had to be the white starlit dance floor – the LED lights embedded in the floor twinkled like stars. The most memorable moment of the evening: when Daniel performed a rap song titled “Fly Together” that he had written for Sara, describing their courtship, including their engagement at Lake Rabun, and declaring his undying love for her!

A Reveal… and a Real Wedding!
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Today’s real wedding is a very special reveal! When we heard that the fab folks at Alfred Angelo were celebrating their real brides by selecting one to be their ‘Facebook Cover Girl’ each month, we thought it was brilliant.  We were honored and flattered to help them with the selection process and so excited to announce that Mrs. Ticona Fillah is February’s lucky lady. Ticona married the love of her life, Vince, this past September, in a vibrantly romantic wedding in Potomac, Maryland. We snagged these stunning photographs by Judah Avenue Photography to share the day!

Ticona’s dramatic drop waist style gown looked as if it was made just for her!  Her classic, yet modern bridal look was complemented by rich, bold hues of the bridal party attire.  She shared that their inspiration for planning was ‘tradition and romance with great food, and non-stop dancing. We really wanted our guests to share in our love and union, and to have an amazing time!’

After taking their vows in a traditional ceremony at the church,  the celebration continued in a nearby hall.  The reception was glamorously adorned with submerged florals and candlelight.  After pouring over the details for almost a year, an evening of all-out dancing ensued in the dreamy and carefully constructed ambiance.

A Classic Romance by Deep Grey Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

If you’re tried-and-true traditional, you’ll love what’s next!  Remie and Paolo’s Brisbane wedding encompassed their classic style with all things simple and romantic: from the mansion setting, rich red roses and every detail in between.  Their aim was to minimize ‘fuss,’ and instead focus on elements of pure elegance. The red, black and white palette made for a dramatic look, captured in timeless photos by Deep Grey Photography.

This photo is dashingly beautiful, no? It was a windy day in Brisbane, but otherwise blue skies…  Remie selected a strapless ball gown by Winnie Bridal and was lucky enough to snag it off the rack – it’s so perfect on her! Her bridesmaids wore one-shoulder frocks by Barijay, bringing just a hint of modern to the classic day.

Paolo and Remie finally met after seeing each other ‘across the room’ at several events over the years.  (Sigh, the kind of story I love…) An introduction by a mutual friend eventually led to their breathtaking, sunlit ceremony in front of a staircase and cathedral windows at the Old Government House.

They planned an intimate reception for eighty, featuring dapper black and white details and warm candlelight.  Family and friends contributed their talents and creativity to the evening:  Remie’s sister made the cake and some friends performed a surprise skit, re-enacting key moments in their relationship.  (Remie and Paolo said it was unforgettable and hilarious)!

Wishing the newlyweds decades of romance…

Vibrant Hindu Ceremony in Atlanta by Nadia D Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

These photos are sure to sweep you away to the ancient, exotic culture of India. It’s hard to believe, but Indira and Shankar’s vibrant, color-filled, and traditional Hindu wedding was actually held in Atlanta!  Nadia D was there to capture the sacred ceremonies and exquisite beauty of their union. Sophisticated, Indian arts had a special place in the day, from Indira’s mendhi to the painted outdoor floor.  The bride wore several changes of traditional attire throughout the wedding celebration, each one utterly unique and gorgeous.
Indira is from Atlanta, Shankar from New Jersey.  They met in college, and remained close friends for ten years!  They finally got together in 2010, and were engaged a year later. A daytime ceremony turned into a sophisticated evening reception at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel.  The reception was imbued with fall colors, candlelight, and a rich blend of greenery and florals.

What an utter treat to indulge in these incredible photos!  All our best to the newlyweds!

A special thanks to Nadia D and I Do PR for sharing this with us.
