Vintage Romance in the Countryside: A Real Wedding by Alixann Loosle
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

I’m just basking in these dreamy, light-filled photos by Alixann Loosle (and so very happy to share them with you today)!  Kiki and Dan’s vintage-style wedding in Wanship, Utah couldn’t be more fresh and charming… every image another beautiful dose of inspiration.  This pair of musical creatives met thru mutual friends. Although Dan was smitten right away, it took a few years for their connection to be revealed.  They both play in bands, love the same music, and are self-proclaimed antique junkies.  This past June, they tied the knot in a wedding that incorporated many of their loves and passions.  Spread out on the Rockport State Park property, a music-filled day of vintage romance ensued!

Kiki’s tea-length Leanne Marshall dress featured the prettiest lace overlay.  The flowers, oh those flowers… Sarah Winward carefully selected the most pristine pastel blooms.  A soft palette of ivory, peach, sage green, and burlap was organically woven throughout the afternoon.

After a hand-written ceremony officiated by Kiki’s mother, the couple was showered with birdseed.  A rustic spread of long wooden farm tables topped with more incredible florals awaited guests.  Every detail, every photo is more lovely than the last!

Have you ever seen such a dreamy, romantic cake?  Swoon…  For favors, Kiki and Dan recorded a mini album together and sent guests home with CDs- so perfectly suited and memorable.

There are dozens more photos to see…don’t miss a one, go to the full story.

Sweet wedding wishes to Kiki and Dan

A special thanks to  Alixann Loosle for making our Monday so romantic…

A Shabby Chic Wedding by Focus Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

Courtney, the bride,  loves shabby chic décor, details, and styling so she knew she wanted the day to have a shabby/vintage feel. As a couple, she and Adam wanted to host an event that felt whimsical, romantic, and homey. Something beautiful and fun, but not too stuffy. After seeing The French Estate in Orange, California, they knew it was the perfect backdrop.  Here’s their sweet wedding day story in photos by Focus Photography.

The pair met six years prior via match.com.  Adam actually proposed to Courtney at the same place they went to on their first date, a little cove in Laguna.  On a gorgeous eighty degree day in October of last year, they tied the knot on the front porch of The French Estate. A soft palette of chocolate brown and romantic pink, some Parisian-tie-ins, and charming florals added to the shabby-chic, vintage feel. After photos around Orange, an intimate gathering of about sixty people ensued in the backyard of the estate.

Darling! Happy wishes to the lovely couple ♥

The very sweet and creative Heather, over at Gathering Spriggs, asked us if we would guest post during her brief time away…

Of course we said yes… and knew that the perfect thing would be some tried and true vintage romance wedding inspiration.  Here’s a sneak peak of the inspiration board, click here to see the full post.

Vintage Romance: Part Three
Posted by Kate. Filed under Color Palettes, Wedding Inspiration

This is part three of a three part series contributed by Anne Sage of The City Sage.

Depression Era Florals
In spite of much hardship, the 1930′s were not without beauty and joy. A midsummer twilight gathering calls for homespun calicos, flowers of all hues, and desserts like grandma used to make. Ask guests to donate Goodwill-bound furniture for the decor. Required viewing: O Brother Where Art Thou.
