Mindy and Tony were married at The Lafayette Hotel in San Diego, Calif. on April 12. ”The day felt like it was something out of a storybook,” Mindy said.. “The beauty of our hotel/venue was what inspired the wedding’s Hollywood glam feel.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace a-line wedding gown with a tiered skirt, accessorized with a jeweled sash and fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a tan suit, accessorized with a striped tie. ”Seeing each other during the ‘first look’ was incredible!” she said. “It gave us the perfect quiet time for just us to see each other for the first time while still having beautiful moments during our ceremony.” Guests were greeted with a chalkboard sign that said, “There’s a guy and a gal here taking pictures; we asked them to come. So, please rest your cameras because we only need one.” The “unplugged” ceremony was decorated with mix ‘n’ matched vintage chairs and umbrellas hanging from the ceiling to give it a more whimsical touch. Following the nuptials, the reception was held inside the ballroom. Tables featured calla lily centerpieces, lanterns lit with candles, and personalized champagne flutes, which served double-duty as favors. In lieu of a traditional cake, cake pops were given out as dessert. Yum! See the full board here.

Angel + Jerry: A Whimsical Pastel Summer Wisconsin Backyard Wedding By Laurelyn Savannah Photography

Angel and Jerry were married at the bride’s parent’s home in Fennimore, Wis. on June 22. ”The inspiration for the wedding actually came a lot from Pinterest,” Angel said. “I chose a pastel color scheme of pinks, whites, creams, and a little bit of greens and purples.” The bride wore a blush dropped waist wedding gown with a beaded bodice, accessorized with no shoes in lieu for henna, while the groom wore a pale blue button-up shirt, gray pants, suspenders, and a skull bow tie. Bridesmaids wore white long chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of baby’s breath. Guests were directed to the backyard ceremony with a wooden arrow sign post and greeted with a chalkboard sign that encouraged to pick a seat not a side. ”OH MY! It was beautiful, the sun was out, the birds were chirping, and both the best man and maid of honor forgot the rings,” she said. “Thankfully, we didn’t have to go far.” To symbolize their unity, the couple chose to do a handfast in front of a paper crane altar arrangement. ”Afterwards, we had enough time to snap a couple of photos before one of the biggest rain storms of the year hit,” Angel said. The tented reception was decorated with lace balloons and cafe string lights from the ceiling, but the tables were decorated with white linens, vintage china, and tree stump centerpieces that featured pillar candles. Our favorite detail? The ice cream bar with all the toppings! Yum. See the full board here.

Brooke + Matthew: A Whimsical Red Fall California Ranch Wedding By Mason and Megan Photography

Brooke and Matthew were married in a traditional church ceremony at Sam Ramon Chapel followed by an outdoor reception at Rancho Tinaquaic in Santa Maria, Calif. last fall. The couple first met at a Halloween party. ”I was dressed as Lady Gaga, and Matt was a ‘member of a British band’ (aka he had no costume, except a scarf),” Brooke said. “But as we continued to see each other within a shared circle of friends, we found more and more reason to spend time together. Eventually, Matt asked me over to listen to an album by She & HIm — one of my favorite bands. It was love at first listen!” The bride wore a taffeta empire waisted wedding gown with a banded bodice, accessorized with a floral wreath in her curly short hair, while the groom wore a light gray suit, accessorized with a red tie. ”Matt’s grandfather always told him that you should make a statement with your socks,” she said. “Following his advice, Matt owns a variety of wild prints, but his signature sock choice has always been red. . . We weren’t set on red as a color scheme — we just wanted things to be colorful!” Fun fact: The ceremony took place inside the same chapel Brooke’s great great great grandfather built for his wife in 1875. ”Growing up, I always knew I would be married there. It sits about a mile away from my family’s ranch, and the ranch house we had our reception at,” Brooke said. Tables were decorated with candle centerpieces atop pieces of wood, the cake was lemon flavored with fresh raspberries, and the newlyweds performed their first dance to ” I Won’t Dance” by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Laurel + Kevin: A Whimsical Circus-Themed Summer Backyard Oklahoma Wedding By Ely Fair Photography

Laurel and Kevin were married in the bride’s parent’s backyard in Edmonton, Okla. on June 29. “Kevin has been studying movement theater and clowning for some time, and I have always loved old film clowns like Charlie Chaplin, so the vintage circus idea seemed perfect,” Laurel said. The bride wore Claire Pettibone’s “Midnight” antique embroidered sheath dress with amethyst jewels on the straps, while the groom wore a white button-up, kahki pants, suspenders, cap, and purple tie. Notice the clown? ”The morning of the wedding, it rained (which I hear is good luck!),” she said. “It made the rest of the day cooler, and by the afternoon, the sky was perfectly clear.” Amidst the trees were hanging umbrellas and twinkling cafe lights, showcased on the fence were posters of Ringling Bros. and Barnun & Bailey, and lining the gazebo were paper flowers.”We had a short and simple ceremony, and the guests were not seated according to the bride or groom’s side but wherever they wanted,” Laurel said. The reception followed with foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, and peanuts, and a photo booth with red foam nose props. There even was a performer, who did stunts on a unicycle and juggled pins! See the full board here.
