Jessica + Matthew: Whimsical Eastern Shore Wedding by Hudson Nichols Photography
Posted by Kate. Filed under Real Weddings

As the weather warms up, we can’t help but daydream about the most idyllic places on the planet to spend the summer months.  You know, coastal spots with harsh winters that become completely alive with gorgeous foliage, visitors, and cool water lapping up on the- for a brief few months- warm sandy shores.  Jessica and Matthew’s May wedding transports us to such a spot- Trappe, Maryland, where they married on a sunny day at their family farm.  We’re completely taken by the entire event, from their easy-breezy style to the pops of whimsical, vibrant color. And it doesn’t seem that it could have been captured more perfectly than it was in these sunlit photos by Hudson Nichols Photography.

Jessica glowed in an organza Badgley Mischka gown, and had her long curls sideswept in a pretty low-do.  Much like the rest of the event, she emanated an effortless beauty.  The florals, with pops of color inspired by a desert sunset, were sourced from a local farm.  The bride lended her creative touch to many of the day’s details, designing the romantic country wedding of their dreams in a place they both hold dear in their hearts.

A cheeky fascinator and fun clutch will add a dose of whimsy to either of these potential bridesmaid frocks, and we love the idea of finishing off with a bright fuchsia heel.  Happy (almost) weekend!

DIY Wednesday: Confetti Table Runner
Posted by Kate. Filed under DIY Wednesday, Do It Yourself

By: Victoria Hudgins

Finding wedding linens that connect with your style can be a challenge. Custom table runners are a great way to interject wedding style in a way that is cost effective and festive. This DIY confetti runner makes a trendy statement and can be placed on dining tables, a guest card table or a dessert bar!

To make the confetti runner:

Step One. Cut a length of fabric to size. The dimensions should be 1/3 of the width of your table and 1 1/2 times the length, so it hangs pretty.

Step Two. Fold over and sew the sides for a finished look or leave the edges raw for a casual outdoor wedding.

Step Three. Purchase fabric paint and a package of circular sponge painters.

Step Four. Paint on colored ‘confetti’ rounds using different sized sponges.

Step Five. Let dry; iron paint side down for a perfect look.

Adorn with matching décor!
