Her ‘maids donned mix-and-match dresses in jewel tones such as teal, plum, and navy. The groom and his men looked dapper in gray dress pants, blue suspenders, and skinny blue neckties. The couple tied the knot outside on the vineyard property, and guests were directed to their seats with chalkboard signage. The couple sat at a sweetheart table featuring a burlap table runner and monogrammed block letters. “There was an over-spilling of warmth and emotion that every one felt in the presence of these two,” Kiel, their photographer, said. Kristin and Bo were married at Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery in Swisher, Iowa on August 9. The bride looked flawless in a satin fit-and-flare gown with a bateau neckline and deep V back. She wore a crystal belt and her hair in a low chignon. She carried a soft bouquet of garden roses and peonies. Her ‘maids donned short pink satin dresses accented with a bow and carried a white bouquet of garden roses and hydrangeas. The groom donned a classic black tuxedo, while his men opted for black suits. The couple tied the knot on the lawn of the winery in front of 200 friends and family members. “Our approach to the wedding was to keep things simple,” Kristin said. “The winery where we got married is located in such a beautiful spot that we didn’t want to take away from the scenery.” Kristin’s father walked her down the aisle, and an adorable flower girl donning a flower crown participated in the ceremony as well. “August 9th ended up being the most perfect day. The sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky,” Kristin said of the weather. After the two exchanged vows, a reception followed, which took place both inside and outside. In lieu of a sit-down dinner, the couple opted for food stations. “We wanted the night to feel like a cocktail party that never ended,” Kristin said of the idea. Friends and family sat at round tables with white linens in white folding chairs. Each table featured a chevron table runner and white floral centerpieces. An acoustic guitar band played outside so guests could enjoy the summer evening. For dessert, guests enjoyed a classic three-tier buttercream cake adorned with bright flowers. “My advice to other brides would be to not sweat the small stuff! Be decisive and move on to the next task at hand,” Kristin suggested. See the full board here.

Melissa and Theo were married at Trezzi Farm Winery in Colbert, Wash. on July 12. Melissa looked gorgeous in a strapless ballgown with a sweetheart neckline and an intricate updo, the groom opted for a classic gray suit. The pair exchanged vows in front of 100 guests outside on the vineyard. “Their facility had everything we were looking for and people were generous and kind,” Melissa said of the venue. The cone aisle markers were made of sheet music, moss, branches, and purple ribbon. A wooden pergola with hanging baskets acted as the ceremony backdrop, and family and friends looked on from wooden benches. “Our choice of a winery helped me to decide on eggplant purple, ivory, and green as our wedding colors. This wine theme also extended into some of our decorations,” Melissa said of the decor inspiration. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks before moving into the barn for the reception. Family and friends sat at long wooden tables in wooden chiavari chairs which tied into the rustic vineyard decor. The centerpieces were made of repurposed wine bottles and flowers which sat atop a wood slice that the bride’s father had cut down from their property. Melissa learned a valuable lesson while wedding planning. “I learned is that it was our wedding and we could do whatever we wanted and it didn’t have to fit into the model of what a traditional wedding should look like.” See the full board here.

Tricia + Adam: Gray and Pale Orange Summer Winery Wedding by Lyn Ismael: Evocative Imagery of Love Stories

Tricia and Adam were married at Holland Marsh Winery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 1. Tricia looked gorgeous in a ruched chiffon fit ‘n flare gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. Her colorful bouquet featured coral and apricot roses, purple pincushions, blue delphinium, anemones, Queen Anne’s lace, dusty miller, brunia berries, and pittosporum. Her ‘maids donned long purple-gray chiffon dresses with various necklines. The groom and his men opted for a more casual look in light gray suits and lavender button-down shirts, without ties. The pair married outside as 140 guests looked on in white folding chairs. “For us, it was very important that our wedding was filled with things that we loved and reflected who we were as people,” Tricia said. “We didn’t want to end up doing things just because ‘That’s the way it’s always been done at weddings.'” The ceremony featured a drink station with a large chalkboard sign, where guests could grab flavored water on the way to watch the couple tie the knot. The aisle was marked with hydrangeas, roses, and Queen Anne’s lace. A reception followed at the winery, where guests sat at round tables featuring floral centerpieces in mason jars atop wood slices. “We had a conversation and listed all of the things that we loved and hated about weddings that we’d been to,” Tricia said. “Then we just kept all of the things that we loved, and chucked the things that we hated. With that, we had the perfect blueprint for our day.” Guests were given shoes for the dance floor and indulged in a sparkly tiered cake made by the bride’s aunt, adorned with a custom topper. “Remember that if you’re happy, then all those who love you will be happy too,” Tricia said.
