Tricia and Adam were married at Holland Marsh Winery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 1. Tricia looked gorgeous in a ruched chiffon fit ‘n flare gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline. Her colorful bouquet featured coral and apricot roses, purple pincushions, blue delphinium, anemones, Queen Anne’s lace, dusty miller, brunia berries, and pittosporum. Her ‘maids donned long purple-gray chiffon dresses with various necklines. The groom and his men opted for a more casual look in light gray suits and lavender button-down shirts, without ties. The pair married outside as 140 guests looked on in white folding chairs. “For us, it was very important that our wedding was filled with things that we loved and reflected who we were as people,” Tricia said. “We didn’t want to end up doing things just because ‘That’s the way it’s always been done at weddings.'” The ceremony featured a drink station with a large chalkboard sign, where guests could grab flavored water on the way to watch the couple tie the knot. The aisle was marked with hydrangeas, roses, and Queen Anne’s lace. A reception followed at the winery, where guests sat at round tables featuring floral centerpieces in mason jars atop wood slices. “We had a conversation and listed all of the things that we loved and hated about weddings that we’d been to,” Tricia said. “Then we just kept all of the things that we loved, and chucked the things that we hated. With that, we had the perfect blueprint for our day.” Guests were given shoes for the dance floor and indulged in a sparkly tiered cake made by the bride’s aunt, adorned with a custom topper. “Remember that if you’re happy, then all those who love you will be happy too,” Tricia said. Following the nuptials, “our wedding party got introduced to the punk rock version of ‘Brown Eyed Girl,’ and we had our first group dance to “It Takes Two” by Rob Base, which kicked off a great party,” Valerie said. “Start to finish, it was a blast!” Tables were decorated with gray linens, red napkins, topiary-style centerpieces with hanging candles, chalkboard wine bottle table numbers, and cake pops at each place setting. Amber + Daniel: A DIY Rustic Illinois Winery Wedding By Melissa Copeland Photography
Posted by Sarah Title. Filed under Real Weddings

Amber knew Daniel was a keeper after their first date. “I never knew happiness the way I know it now,” she said. “He makes me feel that all things are possible.” On the morning of their Castle Finn Winery wedding in Illinois, Amber prepared a survival kit with the most important essential — tissues. She wore a tea-length wedding gown with a champagne colored bolero jacket, sash, and birdcage veil, and accessorized with a do-it-yourself burlap bouquet. The outdoor ceremony showcased the couple’s love for each other and their families with a chalkboard timeline of their courtship, designated chair for the bride’s late grandmother, the bride’s uncle officiating, and unity candles. “I had our unity candles made out of birch bark with our initials and wedding date burnt into the bark,” Amber said. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed lawn games such as cornhole and jenga. Each member of the bridal party received wood chargers at their place settings, bunting hung from tables, and bubbles flew through the air at the reception. From cake, cupcakes, and homemade jam favors, the sweets were endless too. See the full board here.

Ashley + Jomar: A Burgundy And Gray California Winery Wedding By Whittaker Portraits
Posted by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings

A dancer + a musician = the perfect match. Ashley and Jomar first met while they were students at Loyola Marymount University. He spotted her performing at a dance recital, and she spotted him singing at an open mic. In just a short six months, the couple planned their California wedding at Clos LaChance Winery. Ashley wore a Galina lace wedding gown and accessorized with a pair of sparkly flats, floral belt and butterfly hairpin in her braid. Burgundy bridesmaid dresses and gray groomsmen suits matched the color palette to a tee, including the bridal bouquet of orchids and cala lilies. During the outdoor ceremony, guests kept cool under the shade with their parasols as they watched Ashley and Jomar symbolize their unity with sand. Wine bottles and corks were used throughout the reception decor, centerpieces featured blossoming branches and hanging candles and crystals, and the couple’s first dance was to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, which was before or after Jomar serenaded Ashley with his guitar?
