Amy + Joel: A Vintage Gray and Yellow New Hampshire Museum Wedding By Ampersand Photography

Amy and Joel met overseas and dated long distance for a while — she was living in Rome, he in Ohio. They married in Vermont, where Amy grew up, and held their reception nearby in New Hampshire. The causal wedding invitations featured tag-style inserts inviting guests to a welcome BBQ. The bride walked down the aisle wearing a v-beck J. Crew gown and chapel-length veil and carrying a wildflower bouquet. Her bridesmaids wore gray dresses with blush floral headbands and mustard flats. The traditional church ceremony incorporated readings in Italian. Bunting hung from the reception’s ceiling, a chalkboard display the cocktail menu, and vintage china plates were at each place setting, and homemade buckeyes, and maple syrup favors were given to guests at the end of the night. Posted by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings

We look at a lot of weddings here at PW, and while our main goal is to share inspiring details for your big day, sometimes we get lost in the magic of the couple themselves. Which is absolutely the case with Danielle and Tucker. Look at this pair—have you ever seen a duo more psyched to be married? Their joy and exuberance is contagious, and we love how perfectly that translates into their peppy yellow, orange, and grey decor. Big thanks to Steven and Lily Photography for sharing this day with us! We’re overwhelmed by all the happiness.

Allison + Robert: A Sleek Yellow and Silver City Wedding by Cage & Aquarium
Posted by Sarah Zlotnick. Filed under Real Weddings

“We wanted to have a fabulous cocktail party/sumptuous feast/riotous blowout (briefly interrupted by a laughter-filled ceremony) in a totally unique space,” says firecracker bride Allison of today’s real wedding. Did she and new husband Robert get it? We certainly think so. Their Chicago wedding was held in a private residence that could essentially double as an art museum, and we love that they took to the city streets for their portraits. Fans of sleek city weddings, this one’s for you! Special thanks to Cage & Aquarium for sharing the day with us.

DIY Wednesday: Watercolor Paper Goods
Posted by Kate. Filed under DIY Wednesday, Do It Yourself

By: Caroline Drake

Watercolors are such a fun trend right now, and a great way to splash your wedding colors on just about anything! Dessert or food labels can be dressed up easily with just a few strokes of watercolors, and it makes a huge impact on a delicious table spread. Here’s the how-to:

Materials: Watercolor paints in your colors • Paint Brush • Water • Watercolor Paper • Scissors or a decorative paper punch

Step One. Print out, or write the food labels you need onto watercolor paper.

Step Two. Cut the labels out with scissors, or use a die cut or paper punch for a more decorative edge.  When you make your cuts, leave room for the watercolor design.

Step Three. Paint a few lines of watercolors onto the label.  Repeat for all paper goods in the spread.

Step Four. Place the watercolor paper goods on the table to label the goodies for your guests.  Mini easels are also a fun way to display them, and you can find them at most craft stores.
