While the Simpsons will be the measuring stick by which virtually every family oriented animated show will likely be measured there are very few shows that have been capable of hold their particular like Matt Stone's and Trey Parker's creation South Park within the recent times.
South Park 19 may be funny to anyone because its jokes are stored on all kinds of different topics and, because they make fun of everybody, you're typically not offended when they make fun of something like. The down-side to this would be that everyone is not able to understand a selected joke and, sadly, get offended. Another awesome thing about the show is that if you spend care about the storyline from the episode, you can almost always become familiar with a good moral message from this (if you cannot, they generally spell it out to suit your needs towards the end together with the "You see, I learned something today..." speech"), unlike Family Guy, where most jokes are unrelated to the plot line.
But, why is South Park 19 especially good, is its cast of characters. South Park 19 has many fun characters such as Timmy, Jimmy, and (the most popular) Butters; but the main characters from the show are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick. Cartman is fat, insensible and intensely discriminatory. He always makes fun of Kyle for being Jewish and it is constantly making rude remarks about everyone, while always getting offended himself as he is known as a "fat ass." Kenny is often there for comic relief. You are able to only know very well what he is saying from reactions of the other three boys as well as the context with the episode, and that he gets killed in almost every episode from the most random way. Stan and Kyle share much the same role from the story. They are usually the cooler heads from the town and they are the only ones who care when Kenny dies, expressing this by always saying "Oh my g-d, they killed Kenny! You Bastards!" (that we find hilarious). Fortunately they are individuals always sum the episode up in the final by telling the moral of the story.
However there are many of people that don't especially like South Park since it is always making fun of religions, celebrities, government policy, etc... But, in my experience, this is exactly what is so cool about this because the show makes fun of everybody and everything.
