So this isn't a wedding bouquet, since I'm already married and don't have any RL friends getting married at the moment, but I thought it came out neat, and I wanted to share!
My mom's birthday is coming up later this month and she LOVES fun socks. So my hubby and I got her a BUNCH of fun socks and I really wanted a fun way to give them to her. Since her birthday falls just a week and a 1/2 after Easter, I thought "OOOOHHH! Egg hunt with socks in the eggs!" But then we realized that a pair of socks was too big for the eggs... so I decided to put just 1 sock from each pair into an egg and put the rest in a basket or something.
THEN I thought "OOOOHHH!!! Sock flowers!" Turns out it's actually a thing and I was able to find tutorials on how to fold/roll the socks into 'roses'. I was still unsure how to put them together, until I thought how fun it would be to make it into a bouquet! So without further adieu, the sock flower bouquet that I made for my mom:
And before I got to that, this is just the socks by themselves:
Hope you all enjoy!! :)
ETA: I made some additions this afternoon that I wanted to share! I got to looking at how I'd put the whole thing together and the floral tape that was holding it all, and decided that while that was nice, I wanted to see if I could pretty it up even more.
So I got out the ribbon that I had available and set to work. I thought at first that I would just put green ribbon and pin it, but then I realized that blended in too much.
So I found some pretty pink ribbon that added a really nice pop, and started lacing it up! Then I added some flowers...lol Here's the results:
So on Easter when the family got together, my husband and I gave the bouquet to my mom and she was BLOWN AWAY! We pretty much literally knocked her socks off (pun intended! :D) She just kept going on about how awesome the bouquet looked and how much time I spent on such a neat gift for her! :) She's adamant that she's not taking it apart for a while. lol she's got 14 complete pairs of socks that didn't have a mate that made it into the bouquet and she's decided that's more then good for her until she's had her fill of showing it off to friends. :D
I'm soooo thrilled with her reaction!!! :D
A few more pictures from Easter when I gave it to my mom (no particular order):
And for anyone interested in seeing the socks used:
So anyway, Easter and my sock bouquet was a huge success! :)
