My First Wedding Anniversary

After one year of marriage, my fairytale still continues. Everyday has not been a garden of roses, but I would rather get stuck with a few thorns than to not have my beautiful roses which is the love me and My Cale share. I had planned to have a photoshoot for our one year anniversary, my wedding dress fashioned into a cocktail dress, couple massages and a romantic dinner at a five star restaurant. As life does, it changes, no matter our best efforts at planning and nothing I planned happened the way I expected, but the outcome was more than I could have dreamed of. We agreed not to exchange gifts, but my beautiful bloom of a husband threw that notion right out the window. We went to dinner with our group of friends, the rat pack, at this wonderful restaurant called Hayden's. Dinner was excellent, ambience was superb and here comes my hubby handing me a bag. I look inside and read the card that had tears form in my eyes, but I refused to let fall trying to be strong. When I took out the picture he had in the bag of us on our wedding day, it made me so emotional the tears flowed freely. There was a beautiful navy blue box in the bag with my initials on it. Inside contained my first pair of dainty, diamond earrings. Sunday he had to go to work but upon his return, he made me an omelette for me and afterwards we went and picked up our anniversary cake. He was tired and wanted to take a nap, so while he was napping, I went to do some work in the garden. When I was finished, I looked at him laying in the bed and thought, there is no place on earth I'd rather be than nestled in his arms. We had planned to go to the movies and out for a light dinner, but I just wanted to be at home, in our home. We lay in one another arms for two hours talking softly to one another, and once we got up, Cale fried us chicken and french fries. He told me to go find a good movie for us to watch and when I returned back in the den, Cale had our cake on display, candles lit and had the picture that he had given me the day before blown up. On the picture read, "Happy Anniversary to God's gift to me." Once again, the tears flowed freely and I wanted to marry him all over again. I thank God that I always believed in Fairytale's; they do come true for those that believe! Mine is still being written.
