11 year old bridesmaid dress?

Ladies I need some advice. I have my FI's niece as a bridesmaid/flowergirl and she will be 11 at the time of our wedding. Both of the following dresses match my 2 older bridemaids in terms of colour, but I'm not sure which one would be more suitable for her. I prefer the ivory one with the green detail but I think this could be too young for her? It comes in sizes up to age 14, but something about it makes me think of younger girls? And the second dress seems to old for her(the model looks at least 18, although it only stocks up to age16!), and I'm not sure I'm too keen on the length - neither long nor short, just kind of an annoying length?!(please bare in mind the colour of the second dress looks awful, its not that colour at all, it matches the adult dresses!)

I guess it depends a bit on how mature she is at 11....I had a more womanly figure at 11 than I do now so I'd have looked silly in the first dress. Strapless is kinda hard to do at that age too, no matter how well developed you are b/c it might make you feel a bit over exposed. If she is still pre pubescent and child like you might get away with 1. I know what you mean about the length of 2 also.

I like her matching the adults. I think the white may leave her looking like a "older" flower girl, which having a 12 year old daughter myself, she may not appreciate. I say go with number 2

*forgot to mention, the second dress isn't strapless, it has little straps, you just cant see them on that photo!*

If you went with number 2, could you shorten the length for her?

Would she be able to try them on and then decide?

adamsapple - I think thats what I am going to have do, order tham both for her, let her try them both on and choose. 11 is such an awkward age, any younger and I'd get her the first one and any older the second one! I think I would have to do something about the length on the second one!!

My neices are in the wedding and the one will be 12.  I lucked out that the dress I picked for my bridesmaids had a junior version of it too.  Her dress will be longer than my girls with straps.  I think Option 2 is the best.

Definitely Dress #2!

My FSD is my MOH but when she was my Jr. Bridesmaid she would have died if she was put in something frilly or too girly. She doesn't want to be viewed as a flower girl, she wants to be seen as a BM!

I would say #2 is probably better I can see how the first dress looks like a FG dress which she might not feel as comfortable in, being 11 that's a tough age when they are still so young but aren't really little girls anymore.. I agree with changing the length on the second one though, it is an awkward length lol

I like #2! And I also like the option to shorten it (if you would consider that).

Put her in dress #2 (she'll thank you!) My daughter is 11 and is my JBM, and I think she would've disowned me if I'd tried to get her to wear #1. It's too flower girl-ish.

You can have your seamstress raise the hemline of dress #2 to match your BMs.
