2013 Brides

Hi my fellow 2013 brides. Just curious how the planning is going and what have you've gotten done so far? My wedding is in August and I've already done the following:

1. Booked the venue, photographer, dj and caterer

2. Picked the colors, purchased the vases for the centerpeices (cheaper than renting)

3. Ordered our custom runner and ceremony decorations.

4. Purchased our linens and napkins (also cheaper than renting) and rented our chiavari chairs.

I'm a Virgo and very particular about things so I had to get an early start. *shrug*

Hello lady! I am a Virgo too! Great minds think alike! I purchased the table linen from ebay for 199 with free shipping! It was hundreds of dollars cheaper than renting and it was a great price for satin!  I also purchased my vases for center pieces as well and they will be used again at other functions. Never to early to do things because before you know it the day will be here! I am so excited to see your vision come alive!

@Mrs.CaleYoung I bought mine on eBay too for the same price and am so happy with the quality. I saved a couple of hundred vs. renting. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the linens and vases afterwards but hey, it was cheaper to buy it.

Shondra, I just looked around online and put together bits and pieces of other peoples ceremonies that I liked, and turned it into something I love! If you go onto my bio you can see the whole script. :)

I am using my for linen for other events such as my fabulous 40th birthday bash next year and my in laws 50th wedding anniversary. My friend has already used my center piece vases for a baby shower.  And you are so right! Saved a couple hundred dollars buying the linen instead of renting. You can always sell it to someone if you don't need it. See I told you great minds think alike. Virgos!!!

1. Booked the venue, photographer, dj, but not my caterer!!! I have  to get on that - I'm in May!

2. Picked the colors, purchased the table decor, have the vases I'm borrowing.

3. Ordered the dress, picked it up, sent it back for a different size. Purchased my undergarments. I still need to get the shoes!

4. Rough plans for the honeymoon, and plans in the making for a "bachelorette party" weekend trip to New Orleans!

My newsletter outlined all important dates (bridal shower, dress shopping/ordering, bach party, etc), it gave information about everyone in the bridal party and coordinators everyone is in different states and don't know each other, it gave information about details we finalized like colors venue etc, I talked about the financial obligation what they will pay for and what I will be paying for them. I think that was it. They thought it was helpful to have all of the information in one place. I would've sent an email with all of this stuff but about half of them don't check email.
