2nd thoughts about marrying a military man?

any of you wish you had fallen for someone NOT in the military?  for me, sometimes i think it would have been easier.  i don't mind the travelling/pcs aspect of it, just the deployments.  but you love who you love and i'm definitely proud of my fiance for serving his country!

nope I love the military lifestyle and I'm so proud of my man and all he does for his country. It's not easy but I've been blessed that he's guaranteed not to get deployed for 2 years but I'm not loking forward to when he does get deployed. I wouldn't change it for the world though.

Nope. I love him. I love our country. I am so proud of what he does. I can't even imagine our life not being defined by the military. Yes, it would be nice if I could see him. Or talk to him.

It is also nice that I will be in the military too- it makes things a bit easier for me job wise- I don't have to worry about looking for jobs when we move.

no regrets...and especially since we are arlready legally married, there's no turnin back now !! :P lol ...im honored to be his wife and support him 100 % because it's hard for a military man to REALLY find a woman who will be there and be faithful thru all the crap, separations, depolyments, etc...they think they're strong enuff but lots aren't...as they say. ..Marine Corps wife...toughest job in the military :) (ok so you can fill in your fi/hubby's branch too) ;)

I Love Men In Uniform--Who knows if I would have given him a secon thought ...lol I would have but the army was a perk...he he he.

I know--I would not be able to live with a man who make the Military His Career! We are so over the deployments, having some incompetent higher up order him to do some bull** job...I'm over it.

I swore that I would never marry military...and then I met Nick. I guess it goes to show that you can't choose who you fall in love with. I would love to have someone that I can see every night, but that wouldn't be what makes him happy. But I am looking forward to the experience cause so far it has only made our relationship stronger.

i have that thought all the time, ive actually talked to my husband about it. of course it hurts his feelings but he has to understand. ive been through two deployments and am about to go through another next year. the answer is yes it would have been easier. but the easiest way isn't always the best way.

Lfe might be "easier" but it might also be boring. I wouldnt change anything about being engaged to a military man.  He keeps our lives exciting. I always have something "different" going on to all my friends. yes I do need them around me to support me when my man is on deployments, but, I think secretly, they all enjoy the "novelty" of it. So no, no regrets. I think being in a relationship with a military man makes our relationship stronger, we are forced to learn to communicate well in via whatever communication we have (email, sat phone, 5 minute phone calls or face to face). It makes us appreciate each other more when we are able to be together...it spices up our lives.

And nothing compares to that moment that you see each other after months of being apart...its like the beggining all over again...and isnt that what we all want,  that feeling of love to last forever?

I couldnt be happier being with a military man.

I agree with Mrs. P. No regrets and an even more fulfilling sense of love and excitement. The extra appreciation in your relationship is the most amazing thing ever. When your girlfriends are complaining about her husband's socks all over the floor and the mess he makes in the bathroom or kitchen, and the fact that he's too busy watching the game to help with the kids...you're wishing you could complain about those things but you know that there's just so many more important things in life to be concerned and consumed with. You're excited and appreciative for the few phone calls, the random moment on skype when the internet actually decides to cooperate and the video and audio are in sync!, the pictures and the reunions. I'm not gonna say I wish my husband's socks covered the floor...but I will say that when they do, I'm not in the least bit irritated :)
